The Paolo Soleri Amphitheater is an amphitheater in Santa Fe, New Mexico, which was constructed in 1970 and closed in 2010. The amphitheater was built in Santa Fe in the late 1960s on the campus of what is now the campus of the Santa Fe Indian School. Soleri's design was influenced by Native American themes. The theater hosted notable North American performers including Carlos Santana, Crosby, Sti

lls, and Nash, and Leonard Cohen, etc. Because the amphitheater is managed by the nineteen Native American Pueblos of New Mexico, it is not protected by state or local preservation laws.

Check it out everyone!!! Such great news. 🙂🙂🙂

This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. Conrad Skinner is an architect with a background in art, art histor...

The moderators of this page just went to check out the current condition of the Paolo Soleri, and the guard monitoring the gate of the Santa Fe Indian School said that no one is allowed on campus unless they are a student. The entire campus appears to be encased with a barbwire fence. It kind of resembles a military complex.

The guard told us that there are about 7 cars per week that attempt entry just to visit the Amphitheater. After we left him we drove to the back of the campus and noticed that there is an area that could easily accommodate a back entrance to the theatre. Perhaps the land that holds the theatre can be purchased by the state and walled off with a separate entrance created in the back?

They hold to the key to its resurrection or its demise. I urge all who support our cause to continue showing your support to our tribal leaders, urge your friends and family to do the same."

Since demolition began in 2009 at the Santa Fe Indian School, many watchers have wondered if the Paolo Soleri Ampitheatre would be spared. Threats now to i
