ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: RACHEL HIPPERT

A voice for opera's most passionate and unforgettable heroines.

Opera West! is pleased to introduce soprano Rachel Hippert, joining us in Santa Fe for A Night at the French Opera, October 23–25.

Rachel has brought some of opera's most demanding roles to life, including Mimì in La bohème, Nedda in Pagliacci, and the title role in Puccini's Suor Angelica with Regina Opera in Brooklyn.

Her performances with New York's Amore Opera have included Donna Anna in Don Giovanni, Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte, and Violetta in La Traviata. Beyond the operatic stage, Rachel has also recorded two albums of original music by Colombian composer Julián De La Chica.

For A Night at the French Opera, Rachel will perform selections from Gounod's Roméo et Juliette and Faust, Massenet's Hérodiade, and Offenbach's The Tales of Hoffmann.

Benjamin Werley returns to Santa Fe!

From Roméo's soaring declarations of love to Cavaradossi's dramatic intensity, lyric tenor Benjamin Werley has made some of opera's most compelling leading roles his own.

This October, Opera West! is delighted to welcome Ben to Santa Fe for "A Night at the French Opera."

His recent engagements include Roméo in Roméo et Juliette with Resonance Works, Alfredo in La Traviata with Opera Acadia, and Cavaradossi in Tosca with Opera Montana.

"I'm excited to be traveling back to Santa Fe and to sing some of the most beautiful music ever written!" - Benjamin Werley

Audiences will hear Benjamin in music from Gounod's Roméo et Juliette and Faust, Massenet's Werther, and other beloved French operas, alongside an exceptional ensemble of guest artists and Opera West! alumni.
