Only a few days left to apply: Prospectus #288 UNM Center for Collaborative Arts & Technology
The Art in Public Places Program of New Mexico Arts and the Local Selection Committee (LSC) of the University of New Mexico (UNM) seek to commission an artist/artist team to create and install site-specific exterior public art for the Center for Collaborative Arts & Technology (CCAT) building at main campus in Albuquerque, NM. Seeking artwork in one or more of the 3 designated outdoor, 3rd floor terraces. The proposed artwork should reflect the region and respond to the context of the site. The new CCAT building is along Central Avenue (Route 66) and designed in direct conversation with stunning views of the Sandia Mountains. All U.S. based artists are encouraged to submit qualifications. Five (5) finalists will be selected and paid $2,500 + travel expenses to create and present a formal proposal. A total budget of $800,000 will be awarded to the selected Artist/Artist Team to commission the creation and installation of their proposed artwork on site, inclusive of all associated fees/costs.

Abiquiu Inn .inn is proud to announce the opening of its highly anticipated 2026/2027 Sculpture Walk & Garden, an immersive outdoor exhibition showcasing over 200 sculptures by 62 acclaimed artists- including 10 Indigenous Artists, who have all come together from across the US to celebrate creativity, landscape and cultural expression through sculpture and art.
The exhibition will officially open with a Champagne Reception on Sunday, May 31, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. New Mexico Arts is teaming up with the Americans for the Arts Action Fund, , City of Santa Fe Arts & Culture Department, , Wise Fool New Mexico, and Vital Spaces Santa Fe, , to present Creative Communities in Action, an ArtsVote workshop to learn and share ways local creative communities can engage in grassroots advocacy and civic and voter engagement. It’s happening this Friday, May 29th from 9:00am - 12:00pm in Santa Fe.

As communities across the country navigate a rapidly changing political and economic landscape, this workshop is designed to empower local creative communities to elevate their voices and motivate voters to turn out.

Session Topics Include
• Get Out the Vote (GOTV) rules & activities for 501c3 nonprofit organizations
• Arts advocacy and civic engagement
• Public investment in the arts and why it matters
• Tapping non-traditional grants for artists & cultural groups

This workshop is about inspiring new ideas, building relationships, sharing experiences, and strengthening connections across New Mexico’s creative community.
