Stage Santa Fe comes to the Siler Rufina Nexus, opening offices and workspace at 3209 Mercantile Court in Unit B. Stage Santa Fe was formed as a 501(c)3 non-profit in 2019 with the objective of bringing high-quality theater and theater arts education to Santa Fe.
Peter Sills, a co-founder of Stage Santa Fe, adds, “Having served on the boards of The Santa Fe Playhouse and Warehouse 21, I am well aware of the incredible talent that exists in Santa Fe. Our goal is to provide the best in performance and education to the local theater/improv community.” Backing for this new venture comes from Peter Sills, a semi-retired high-tech entrepreneur, and his wife, Danette Sills, a a local actor and member of SAG-AFTRA, who has appeared on such shows as “Better Call Saul”. They are joined by Jeff Nell, a graduate in theater from the former College of Santa Fe. Jeff had been working as an actor/director on the East coast before returning to Santa Fe and co-founding Stage Santa Fe.
Stage Santa Fe has just opened its offices and will be offering Improv classes starting this February. Classes in acting and theater will be offered at a later date. Classes are open to everyone. More information on individual classes as well as class sign up can be found on Stage Santa Fe’s web-site at www.stagesantafe.com. Work has also already begun on Stage Santa Fe’s first full-length production, a politically-charged, dark comedy, which will open during the first-half of this year. Further information, such as opening dates and how to obtain tickets, is forthcoming. Additionally, Stage Santa Fe is in early development on a new theater/entertainment venue for Santa Fe. While the work is just beginning, this new multi-purpose performance space is anticipated to open sometime in 2020 with somewhere between 100-200 seats. Once again, further information will be forthcoming.
