At Fittleworth House, the romantic gardens are designed to be in keeping with the Georgian house but managed with a light touch 🌱

"We like to garden naturally here,” says Mark Saunders, head gardener at Fittleworth House in West Sussex. Just this morning, he has logged sightings of a firecrest and red kite in his daily wildlife diary, and tree creeper, spotted fly catcher and blue t**s are nesting in the magnificent 250-year-old cedar of Lebanon.

Boosting biodiversity and gardening sustainably are central to the way he works, including the creation of wild habitats, large-scale composting, organic pest control and use of local and reclaimed materials, as well as managing the food growing for the family from the ornamental kitchen garden. “Wildlife is the priority for me,” he says.

Trump is painting himself in a corner - we must watch out!!!

French President Emmanuel Macron made it clear: “Putin does not keep his word and breaks agreements.” But Donald Trump didn’t listen. He cut off military aid and intelligence sharing with Ukraine, convinced he could strong-arm Putin into a peace deal and claim victory. Instead, Putin saw an opening and immediately ramped up missile strikes on Ukraine.

Now, after watching Putin do exactly what Macron warned he would, Trump is backpedaling—threatening massive sanctions on Russia. Meanwhile, Macron and Europe aren’t waiting around for Trump to get his act together. Macron is warning that “Russian aggression knows no borders” and urging Europe to be ready to defend Ukraine without U.S. support.

Even within the U.S., Republican senators are calling Putin a war criminal and sounding off about Ukraine, warning that Trump’s policies are a mistake. Meanwhile, Macron and Europe are stepping up to secure their defenses as Trump’s erratic foreign policy leaves NATO allies scrambling.

Trump thought he was in control. Macron knew better.
