-- 🎉 throwback to my first ever wedding sign lettering piece 🎉
Big thank you to the couple for willing to trust me with their wedding sign’s lettering 🥺
I have never done anything this official and it was definitely daunting. The groom was well prepared and had given me a slab of wood that was treated and stained already. They did tell me they were going to keep it and hang it in their house after so… NO PRESSURE AT ALL😂😳
The finished piece was decorated with flowers and put on an easel by the couple and/or coordinator. If you want to see some progress pics, swipe along!
My thoughts:
- I quickly realized sketching was needed but I was spending way too much time in that stage and overly nervous about just getting something on paper to get started.
- thankful for tutorial on wood lettering video so I knew to use tracing paper and chalk to imprint my lettering onto the wood before using a paint pen
- a lot of eraser shavings were created. Some unnecessary but hey it was my first time ever 😅
- seeing it at the wedding was incredible. It turned out so much better than I thought.
- no one cares or sees the small imperfections except me (I’ll never learn this as I slightly freaked out with a different wedding piece that I’ll be posting about soon)
All that is to said, I’d totally do it again and huge congratulations to the couple that has now been married for over a year 🎉💕
