Compost Discussion and Workday - Thursday May 28, 2026 / 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. with Thea ([email protected])

Location: 110 Shaffer Road - Head west on Delaware, turn right just before the UCSC Coastal Campus sign and head toward the Homeless Garden Project. Street parking, carpool or alt transportation recommended.

Description: Discuss the biological and social mechanisms and benefits of composting with Hard Core Compost member Thea and then get our hands dirty by turning a pile! All levels of interest and experience welcome!

Required: Closed toed shoes, sun protection, water.

Recommended: gardening gloves, long pants, snacks

Accessibility: We will be outdoors for the full time on uneven ground, but will not be covering much distance. The second portion of the workshop will consist of optional shoveling, pitchforking, and raking. Bathrooms are not easily accessible from the site.

Community care note: we will be outdoors for the duration of the time so masks are not required.
