Dear WIE fans, friends and family,
We are sad to announce that due to the current health crisis, we have decided not to produce a What Is Erotic? main show for the first time in 15 years.
Plans are in the works to produce something very special for Valentines 2021, so we encourage you to stay tuned for more information on this.
We learned through our work on Star Twerk—our first-ever, sexy, silly, original sci-fi movie, now in production--and our WIE mentorship program, which has been held virtually this year, that in-person support of our participants is a non-negotiable part of their well being. The content people bring to us is personal and often vulnerable--despite our best efforts, we were not able to provide the level of connection needed to create the artistry and magic that are the normal outcomes of this extraordinary project. While some people adapted to the online format, others struggled and it was painful. We are committed to providing an environment where all our participants, from audience to cast to our creative team, feel fully able to give, receive, grow and express What Is Erotic? to them."
Star Twerk, originally scheduled for premiere this Halloween, has also been delayed by the pandemic. As our Stage Manager Jae Gallo said Friday, “2020 is so scary, every day is like Halloween”. Hard to argue with that one. Our production team is reassessing our release date and we will let you know.
For now, all of us at WIE want you to know we miss connecting with you in the ‘real’ way we are used to. We are keeping you in our hearts and look forward to seeing you in person again as soon as conditions allow.
