Santa Claus Land, the world's first theme park, was opened by the Koch family in Santa Claus, Indiana, on August 3, 1946. The park's name was changed to Holiday World in 1984 and continues to be owned and operated by the Koch family. Rides and attractions from the Santa Claus Land days are still featured in Holiday World's Christmas section.
