I’ve lived the entirety of life in a dry climate city believing snails can’t possibly live here. It turns out they do! They are just very tiny and good at hiding. My 5 year old daughter recently opened my eyes to this.

Opening my latest puzzle box. The Plus Box. All the mechanics and mosaics are made from different woods. The clicking sound comes from tiny wooden springs inside the box. The tessellation on top is my newest wood pattern. The braid inside is my oldest pattern made 20 years ago. This solution here is the easiest of 3 possible lock settings for it. -box

How fast can you draw a five point star? Can you draw 243 in under a minute? This “hyper-star” has 3^5 number stars in it. I doodled a lot in school when I was a boy and came across this cool shape.

The 4 drawers of the Butterfly Box only open to the correct pattern. A clue is hidden under one drawer. The box in this video opens to unique patterns so as to preserve the secret solution patterns used in all other Butterfly Boxes. The pattern is made entirely from inlayed woods.

To unlock this puzzle box you must solve all 6 mazes. Last year the company that produces “Dungeons & Dragons” asked me to create a very special puzzle box for their new story. I designed and built the for them. If you love role playing, you can find it in their new book.
