Join us October 16 for The Art of Trees, our FINAL free Los Olivos screening of 2026!

Explore the forests of southwestern Quebec through the stories of rare and centuries-old trees, the people protecting them, and the artists giving fallen wood new life.

Director André Desrochers will join us virtually for a Q&A following the film.

FILMMAKER SPOTLIGHT: MICHAEL JAMES LOVE

From dramatic features to powerful stories about wildlife and conservation, Michael James Love has spent his career using film to bring meaningful stories to the screen.

His credits include the Academy Award- and Golden Globe-nominated Gaby: A True Story and the historical epic For Greater Glory. In 2007, Michael founded Sage Hill Films, turning his attention increasingly toward the natural world and the urgent need to protect it.

This November, NatureTrack Film Festival is proud to honor Michael James Love with the 2026 NatureTrack Outdoor Icon Award.

CELEBRATING NATURE’S STORYTELLERS

Last year, NatureTrack Film Festival honored filmmaker and Bimarian Films co-founder Keith Malloy with the NatureTrack Outdoor Icon Award.

This year, that honor passes to Michael James Love, whose remarkable body of work spans feature films, environmental documentaries and more than two decades of storytelling dedicated to wildlife, conservation and ecological restoration.

Different filmmakers. Distinctive bodies of work. A shared ability to change the way we see and value the natural world.

Michael James Love will receive the 2026 NatureTrack Outdoor Icon Award during both NTFF opening nights, November 5 in Carpinteria and November 6 in Los Olivos.

The Wonder of Nature. 🌿🎬

We’re thrilled to unveil the official poster for the 8th Annual NatureTrack Film Festival, featuring the extraordinary work of our 2026 Honored Artist, Tom Henderson.

With its winding path, sweeping foothills and natural beauty, Tom’s artwork captures the spirit of this year’s festival perfectly - an invitation to follow your curiosity, venture beyond the familiar and see the natural world with new eyes.

We’ll also be releasing a very limited number of posters signed by Tom, with proceeds benefiting NatureTrack and helping us continue to foster a lifelong fascination with nature.

More details about the signed-poster fundraiser are coming soon!

Come hear Sue share the story behind the festival, how films are selected, and how powerful storytelling can inspire conservation, connection and meaningful change. She’ll also share ways filmmakers, volunteers and community members can get involved, followed by an open Q&A.
