2009 Dominique Field. If you love French guitars like I do but don’t have the budget for a Bouchet or a Friederich what are your options? Well the two Dominiques are my favorites. Dominique Delarue and Dominique Field. This Dominique Field is in fine condition and was purchased by a client of mine years ago who has enjoyed it and cared for it until now and I am happy to see her again and to find the next caretaker who will enjoy this elegant instrument. Gilbert was an innovator and the list of artists who played Gilbert guitars is long and distinguished including David Russell, Marc Teicholz, David Tanenbaum and others. He built in a thoughtful, almost ‘German engineering’ way due to his background, and created guitars that are very controlled, focused and precise. He used his own style: nearly parallel 5 strut fan bracing.
This is a wonderful example of why his guitars were, and are, valued by so many, Pure Gilbert, any fan of his guitars will adore this one,very balanced and even in tone with tremendous potential in every note for the player to craft as they wish and with excellent volume as well. Very clear, rich deep tone, excellent projection and highly responsive.
Yes this guitar has visible playing wear, but it is also very well played in and very very open. A players guitar.
Comes with a Mark Leaf Case.

Lovely 2017 Philip Woodfield Grand Concert ll. This is the same model I personally delivered to Scott Tennant and Andrew York. The CG ll model has the fret board elevated on the treble side only, just where you need. They are lattice braced, and since Phillip is so adept at working with Spruce, it has a fine Spruce soundboard. The back and sides are of Macassar Ebony, one of Phillip’s favorite woods, though he does also love using his supply of 5,000 year old Bog Oak ( that is not a typo, 5,000 years old!). The tuners are a fine set of Rodgers and it comes with a sturdy Karura carbon fiber case. The tone is exquisite lush deep basses and crystal clear round trebles and with a 645 scale is very easy on the left hand. More a www.classicguitar.com
