“I FEEL GOOD takes the Broadway musical form and turns it on its head. It’s a biographical juke box musical told not from the POV of it’s subject but a side character. It’s Man Of La Macha from Sancho Panza’s perspective. There are no sets. The show uses technologically advanced visual effects to create the world as well as the inner life of its characters. Holograms, projections, innovative film effects, all play a role in transporting the audience to an extraordinary theatrical experience. In addition to James Brown’s amazing song book, the show’s score includes other funk and soul classics. The show is being developed and produced by SummitView Productions, LLC. Lead producers are David Shor (Sleepless) and Neal Israel(Finding Neverland).

I FEEL GOOD

A PRODUCTION BY SUMMITVIEW PRODUCTIONS and DAVID SHOR PRODUCTIONS

“I feel Good” is a unique, Broadway type live performance musical integrating the most advanced hologram and other technology available in the world today with James Brown’s original music and other artists of that period, and the original James Brown Orchestra and backup singers live. The show is being developed and produced by SummitView Productions, LLC (lead producers David Shor and Neal Israel).

“I Feel Good” recalls the life and musical career of James Brown through the eyes of the show’s original story writer Roosevelt “R.J.” Johnson who began working for Mr. Brown at age 12 in Cleveland holding Mr. Brown’s coat and cape for $1 per show and was at his side as his most trusted aid, co-performer and adviser for the next 45 years until Mr. Brown’s death.
Mr. Johnson’s original story “Holding The Coat” is being adapted for the stage by Neal Israel and RJ Johnson as story consultant with James Brown’s music performed by Mr. James Brown (via hologram and other technologies) and some of the original James Brown Orchestra and backup singers live. The three components (book, music and holograms/special effects) will be integrated, the result being a live performance musical extravaganza. The show will include performances by Mr. James Brown himself as he is brought back to life by the magic of the latest and greatest technology available, including holograms.
Holograms and other special effects are being developed by and with an innovative, technologically advanced studio. SummitView and David Shor Productions are in discussions to enter into a joint venture agreement with (To Be Announced) with the intention of combining holographic technology and special effects for the stage and other industries, including some very exciting new technology for the entertainment, advertising and direct marketing industries.

Our intentions are to open the show in 2020 at a prestigious regional theatre for a brief run and then to sit it down in a permanent venue indefinitely while establishing US and international touring and other variations of the show.

SummitView Productions has a palate of additional productions on its slate for development after the initial production of “I Feel Good”.
