Maybe It Was The Roses Festival was an epically great time early on this summer season. Hot off the press is a new video of No Simple Highway's take on Neil Young's Powderfinger. Great thanks to Dino English from Dark Star Orchestra and Matt Bunsen for joining in on our entire set! And extra special thanks to Laina Cohn and Golden Road Festival team and crew for presenting this festival, talk about a real good time, wow! 🙏

Hey now! You all know how much we love our 3-day weekends, and coming right up is Labor Day weekend! We'll be back at The Brewhouse Santa Barbara next SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 6 for another Heady shindig on the back patio from 3pm til at least 9pm!

We're super stoked for Claude Hopper to make their HAHH debut- if you don't know the Hopper (yet), you are invited to come and enjoy wonderfully crafted, original roots-rockin' Americana songs and some choice covers, we know you'll dig it! The band contains members of No Simple Highway and The McCrees including bandleader / singer-songwriter / guitarist David Cowan. The Hopper is 26 years old this year and this show marks the appearance of the full electric ensemble for just the 2nd time this year. More info: www.claudehoppermusic.com

We're also beyond description stoked to welcome back Ladyfinger to Heads All Happy Hour! What a summer this band has had with the monthly Carp Dead Fam Dead night reaching new heights including sharing a bill with their friends, Mason's Children, at SOhO and traveling to the Ecology Center for a high-profile show. This young Santa Barbara band will electrify you with their discerning taste in Dead & Jerry songs, deep exploratory jams, talent and high vibrations. Not to be missed!

As typical with all good Heads All Happy Hours there'll be an opening set with the Ulep Family Band and friends, and a big, fat evening-closing jam set with special guests. Mix all of this live music in with great food, drink and high spirits with good people and we can be together as we near the end of summertime just the way we like it- with a grand ol' time at the The Brewhouse Santa Barbara! We're goin' to the beach with JG Mystery Band THIS THURSDAY August 20 at Reef & Run on East Beach in Santa Barbara! Live music kicks off at 7pm, there's food & drink for sale, and a great vibe as the racers finish their ocean swim and the sun sets on this lovely seaside city we call home! There's nothing like dancin' in the sand on a lovely summer night, and the JGMB is back at it and ready to let it rock! All are welcome and there's no cover. Just a couple of months ago was a mighty swell time at Maybe It Was the Roses Festival in Ventura! We found this YouTube video (courtesy of blisstanger) of No Simple Highway and some very special guests: Dino English from Dark Star Orchestra on drums, sax legend Dave Ellis (Ratdog, The Other Ones, Charlie Hunter) , Sunshine Garcia Becker (Furthur, JGB) on vox, and with Matt Bunsen (Token Rhyme) helping out on bass. Here's 15 minutes of that bolt of sunshine taken from the rail on a beautiful day on the coast!

Summer's here and the time is right! Heads All Happy solstice to our entire community and a very Happy Father's Day to all the Dads out there!

In honor of the solstice, we are thrilled to share a new video from the 4th Annual Jerry Day Santa Barbara, 'Another Day In The Sun' from October 11, 2025 at Chase Palm Park in SB, complete with the introduction before the final two bands (Ladyfinger and No Simple Highway) set off on non-stop back-to-back sets with a devilishly rhythmic Drums segment as the bands changed over. In addition, birthday wishes for Sky Ulep from Ladyfinger!

It was a very special day that brought the SB Deadhead scene and out of town friends and visitors together in honor of good ol' Jer and in support of the great work of Grateful Guitars Foundation and JAMS Music School. In homage to the Grateful Dead's UCSB shows in the 70's called 'A Day In The Sun', we called it 'Another Day In The Sun' and, indeed, we were caught up in sunlight, love and gratitude for Jerry on a picture perfect Santa Barbara day. We had the immense privilege and joy of having Jerry's legendary Fender Strat, 'Alligator' on hand, making its return to Santa Barbara for the first time since 5/20/1973, courtesy of Grateful Guitars Foundation! Not only that, we had Jerry's Takamine acoustic guitar that he used from '83-88! Safe to say that being in the presence and feeling the power of these instruments brought us closer to Jerry, and hearing the talented guitarists spanning generations perform Dead & Jerry music made for a day we will never forget!

Mark your calendars now for No Simple Highway's 12th Anniversary show at SOhO on July 11, 2026, and follow Ladyfinger as they continue to show how the next generation of Deadhead musicians has this music in great hands! Thank you all for your continued love & support, let's keep the good times, high vibrations and live music rollin'!
