Twenty-five years ago, a simple wish changed the trajectory of my life.

As a young cancer survivor at Rady Children’s Hospital, I was granted a wish by the Make-A-Wish Foundation. My dream? To be a DJ. That spark ignited a passion that eventually became Ampersand Events.

Last night, we produced the Rady Children’s Hospital oncology ball, marking my 25th year being involved with this incredible event. Coming back to the place that saved my life: not as a patient, but as the professional providing the music, lighting, and magic: is a full-circle moment I never take for granted.

This year’s galaxy theme was more than just a setup; it was a reminder that even in the darkest times, there’s a whole universe of hope waiting to be discovered. I am beyond honored to help create these memories for the next generation of warriors.

There’s something truly special about seeing a vision come to life at the historic Ebell Club in Santa Ana. For Melody and Duc’s big day, we had the honor of transforming this beautiful space into a warm, leaf-dappled dreamscape.

Our custom gobo leaf patterns draped the walls in texture, while warm yellow uplighting set a cozy, inviting tone for the entire evening. But the real showstopper? That "Dancing on a Cloud" first dance. Seeing them glide across the stage through that dreamlike fog was a moment nobody will forget.

Saturday was one for the books! 🇺🇸💍 We had the honor of providing full event services for this incredible military wedding. From the first planning session to the final dance, we handled everything: Master of Ceremonies, DJ, Lighting, Sound, and custom Drapery.

It’s always special to see a couple’s story come to life, especially with such a powerful patriotic backdrop. Seeing the dance floor light up with glow sticks and smiles is exactly why we do what we do.

Prom night at the historic Ebell Club in Santa Ana was a masquerade masterpiece for Norco High School’s Phantom of the Opera themed prom! 🎭✨

There’s something special about bringing high-energy modern production into a 1920s Spanish Revival ballroom. We turned up the volume and the vibes, making sure every beat felt as big as the moment. From the custom theatrical lighting to the sound system that kept the dance floor packed all night, it was a night to remember.
