We must always let our imagination grow!!

Leonora Carrington… an artist who never saw the world quite as we do. Instead, she opened doors to mysterious realms filled with symbols, imagination, and hidden stories. 🎨✨

In 1996, Carrington painted “The Window” using acrylic on canvas board, inviting us through the window into a world that feels almost like a dream… yet seems to hold secrets of its own.

In Carrington’s art, a window is never simply a window, and the figures are never merely figures. Every detail can carry a meaning, while each scene feels like a fragment of a surreal story that has not yet ended.

Leonora Carrington created a world entirely her own—and her paintings still invite us to step inside it. 🖤

Some of us are closer to the unique delicate sensitivity of the soul of our fellow friends the elephants 🐘 ❤️

“The land does not only preserve our footprints… it preserves our stories too.”

This is exactly what we see in the work of Australian Indigenous artist Frances Nowee.

In her painting “Nynmi,” Frances portrays her mother’s Country along the Canning Stock Route in Australia’s Great Sandy Desert.

The delicate dots and lines trace her mother’s journey as she gathered seeds and searched for bush food across the land.

It is not simply a painting of the desert…

It is the memory of a mother, a connection to Country, and a story passed from one generation to another through art.

Frances Nowee is a member of Warlayirti Artists in Balgo and also works at the local aged-care centre.

When the land becomes memory, art becomes a way of keeping the story alive.

I was hoping to open the show sooner, but had to get a 🌧 ✔️ due to time constraints as I prepare for our 12th Annual Día de Mu***os Festival, and leaving for a Boston adventure in one weeks time.

I have sadly been hit with a severe migraine attack that's I'm afraid has sent me to hide in a dark room and lie down.
