Thanks to Sanford Alumni Association for the wonderful shout out! It’s so important to us to be a part of this community, being a part of the Alumni Association is just one of the many things we do 💕
Todays Sponsor Shout-out: Jazz Tappin Dance Academy
Celebrating 26 years in Sanford, JTDA has become so much more than a dance studio, it’s a place where confidence is built, talent is nurtured, and generations of dancers have grown up feeling supported, challenged, and inspired.
Founded by Miss Kendra O’Connell, JTDA has been shaping dancers since 2000, starting with just 75 students and growing year after year into a studio that has made a real impact far beyond Sanford. From local performances to national stages like Disney World and even the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, JTDA dancers have represented this community with pride, discipline, and incredible talent.
What truly sets JTDA apart is their philosophy: every student matters. Whether it’s a 3-year-old learning their first shuffle or an advanced dancer mastering complex technique, they focus on growth, confidence, and making dance something students genuinely love coming back to.
With a full range of classes, ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, lyrical, contemporary, and acro, JTDA provides a strong technical foundation while keeping classes fun, age-appropriate, and supportive. They also go above and beyond with thoughtful touches like live lobby viewing of classes, organized recitals, and a strong emphasis on positive self-esteem and personal development.
Behind the scenes, JTDA is powered by an incredible team including Miss Kendra, Miss Kelcie Duplessis (Acrobatic Arts certified and deeply committed to student growth), and Miss Lizzy Fraser, whose dedication and mentorship help keep the studio running like a true family.
And beyond the studio walls, JTDA continuously gives back, supporting local charities, fundraisers, school events, and community initiatives. That kind of commitment is exactly why they mean so much to this area.
We are extremely grateful for Jazz Tappin Dance Academy as a sponsor. Their support helps make events like Spree of Trees possible, and more importantly, reflects their ongoing investment in the growth and success of this community.
If you’ve ever taken a class there, watched a recital, or seen a JTDA performance, you already know. This isn’t just a dance studio. It’s a family, a tradition, and a Sanford staple ❤️💃
