Do You Need a Hug? Call for a Shawl or Join Us!

Spreading The Love! All Souls Prayer Shawl Ministry, Sanford, FL
The Prayer Shawl Ministry welcomes new members as well as those who just need a loving hug! Our group gets together to comfort others by crocheting/knitting unique, hand-crafted shawls for them, while our members engage in the soothing therapy of crocheting/knitting together in a supportive, "close-knit" group
(smiling, pun intended).

Please know that all who have recently faced life's challenges are in our thoughts and prayers. If the love that comes with a shawl is what you need right now, The prayer shawl ministry has shawls available at the parish office.

FUN FACTS from a 2016 New York Times Article "The Health Benefits of Knitting"

The Craft Yarn Council reports that a third of women ages 25 to 35 now knit or crochet. Even men and schoolchildren are swelling the ranks

Knitting and crocheting can lower heart rate and blood pressure and reduce harmful blood levels of the stress hormone cortisol.

Unlike meditation, craft activities result in tangible and often useful products that can enhance self-esteem.

54 percent of those who were clinically depressed said that knitting made them feel happy or very happy.

(Suffering from arthritis?) the brain can process just so much at once, and that activities like knitting and crocheting make it harder for the brain to register pain signals.

Research suggests that crafts like knitting and crocheting may help to stave off a decline in brain function with age.

All Souls Festival - Pick-up or Eat-in Delicious Meals Saturday, 11am to 8pm!

The "Community Family Fest" is this Saturday, and we're serving up delicious meals with a side and a drink! Stop by All Souls Church off SR 46 in Sanford, on Saturday, Nov. 6th, between 11am-2pm or 4pm to 8pm, for Festival Food Favorites! Bring home a fun dinner for the family, or a special treat for yourself. "Drive-thru" pick up service for Festival Food is available, or "eat-in" at the family tables under the "Big Tent"!

Beer and wine are available separately, for eat-in service only, under the "Big Tent". Tempting dessert "Sweet Treats" bring smiles all around!

The All Souls Community Family Fest is right around the corner (Nov. 6th). We'll have some great family fun in-person, as well as some great Festival Food favorites at the church!
