Feeling gratitude & warmth (figuratively & literally 😂) this morning. Man. Life can throw some humdingers sometimes, can’t it?? Since the start of this year nearly every life catergory that could be turned upside down or slung around was. On the heel of still grieving 3 dear friends who passed away last year. Unexpected health stuff (w layer of insurance being an utter joke), more loss, a scare w one of my closest, car stuff (naturally at the worst times 😂), taxes 🙄 (for a small biz is no joke), trying to finish a certification I’ve been working on for years- while caring for a pet preparing to pass, and running an over full time studio. Whew. … 😐. Am currently on full revision 4 of what I’d planned for his year- had to adjust to a completely diff year than I’d been looking forward to. We adapt. It’s funny the edges we didn’t know we had that get knocked off of us as humans through prolonged periods of challenge. I guess we keep growing til we take our last breath. Grief is no joke. There’s no ‘fix’ to it. It’s just being present, gentle with oneself & holding space in memory for the incredible spirits who have moved on. Life feels different without the phone calls, the snuggles, the unconditional love of those 4. I’m deeply grateful to the friends who made an effort to check on me, and support however they could the last six months. I’m such a forcefield of independent ‘go getter’ sometimes, that a lot of folks just figure ‘eh it’s Kara, she can do anything, she’ll be fine.’ And while that’s often true, the love coming in from friends the last several months have really helped me. Even the leaders of the wolf packs need a little love sometimes. 🐺🌟💜💜💜 Check on the ‘strong ones’ in your life. It can be exhausting to be the initiator, organizer, giver, wisdom dispenser, and leader all the time. We need some love & support sometimes too. Thanks to those who could lend a hand and a heart the last few months. XO 😘

Stumbled across this photo of a practice sesh at ‘s a while back when we were doing some duo gigs. His sweet doggo, Marty, was so intrigued by my cello. When I’d first set it up to begin practice, Marty would come over and stick his nose right in the f hole of the cello and just breathe in the smell of the wood. It was the cutest!! 😂💓 I must admit I, too, love the aroma of the wood of my Romanian cello. Second pic is Marc and me at a holiday gig. Sorry, Marc, Marty gets first pic in this post— 😂😋😉

I could not be more proud of my students’ hard work and dedication this year. From musicals to rock shows, indie singersongwriter circles to our studio’s shows & open mics, everyone has exhibited such strength, natural charisma, and heart in their commitment to growth in their various projects and achievements. All students in our studio recieved #1 ratings at statewide Solo & Ensemble competition this year, and I’ve seen students from ages 6- Retirees really dig their heels into the spotlight and experience pure joy and flow in the moment~ and that’s what it’s all about: learning how to find our way ‘home’ to ourselves and feeling and experiencing the value and beauty of showing up as our purest most fantastic unique selves in our music, characters we represent, public speaking engagements, presentations and just — stepping into life authentically and with joy. ThaT, my friends, is what moves mountains. XO Lessons available in: Anatomical voice technique for Singers, Speakers & Actors, Piano, Guitar, Violin, Cello, Functional Music Theory, Acting for Film & Theater, Public Speaking & Compelling Storytelling, Songwriting/ Composing/ Arranging, and Performing Arts Business Coaching. We have students in our studio from all across the States & globally! 🌍🎭🎶🎤🌟🌟🚀

Hi Lovelies (and I do mean that 😊💝),

We are all so lucky and blessed to get to play and bring joy into our lives through the Arts. 🎭🎤⭐️⭐️🎸🎹🎼🎧🎻

The Arts are a lot like Sports. HoW, you may ask?
Wellll, the Performing Arts are both physical and mental.
We learn and grow through deep connection between mind, body, and heart. 🧠🤸‍♀️❣️❣️
Playing musical instruments as well as singing both require great physicality... which means we must exercise those muscles regularly to stay up on our 'game' of music. Would we expect to play a great soccer game having only practiced once a week with the team? ...Right. Music, too, requires commitment to keeping those muscles toned and dialed in~ whether it be the 100 muscles in the vocal tract that interplay to create phonation, or hand, arm, leg, head and neck muscles and a plethora of others utilized to play instruments and sing or speak. : )
Did you know engaging in learning music is one of the only human activities that engages almost all regions of the brain simultaneously?? 😊
That's why someone who studied piano 20 or even 50 years ago still has some recall tucked away in the brain archives... which can be resurrected! And is also why folks working with strokes and memory loss can recall memories & responses and love through hearing and experiencing songs.
Studying music also engages the brain in such healthful & invigorating ways that student test scores in math, reading & science etc. all improve for those engaging in regular music study.

I have a couple lesson slots opening up for folks looking to explore and bring joy into their lives through adventuring in Voice for Singers, Speakers, and Actors; Guitar, Piano, Violin, Cello, Practical & USEABLE Music Theory, Songwriting; Composing/Arranging; Performance Psychology & Overcoming Performance Anxiety; Voice Over, and Acting for Film & Theater. I also help guide students in the Music Industry, guide females in safety in the performing arts fields, and teach from a wholistic perspective using the Performing Arts as a fun and welcoming lense through which we explore confidence-building, learning to be our brave & fab selves in front of others, developing effective and meaningul communication skills, and experiencing the Arts as a feel-good, fun, playful, and cathartic means to making the most of joy and enjoying our time here on Earth. 😊🌎💫💫
I have students from all over the U.S. and abroad ~ I'd love to connect with you to see if this is a good fit! 💖💖

More fun moments on the fly last year doing secret things in secret places w great people. 😂 I’ve helped with a project for foster kiddos in the west that’s been deeply meaningful and fulfilling. The kids are lucky to have these fab folks helping guide the ship!! 😊 In pic 2, we weren’t expecting to bump into each other- he didn’t even know I was in town & shouted me down from across a parking lot early in the morning. Was really funny 😂

This little love has been with me 17 of his 21 years. He’s nearing the end… and it’s my complete honor to care for him in his last bit of time on earth as he has been the dearest, sweetest friend to me all this time. He’s been goofy, funny, loves to dance, picks out his own tshirts to wear (loves them), adores his gamma, gampa, and aunties, has loved ‘his’ students all these years, enjoys talking to gamma/ gampa on the phone, going to GamGam’s AirBB, and to all who’ve known him~ you know he’s been a true blue social loving fella through and through. Animals have meant the world to me all my life. I’ve always existed in a different way in life than the masses (and I’m okay with that). I’ve been astounded at the 👎🏽quality of a lot of people in the culture I spend the most time in- it seems a dime a dozen now to find other people who have integrity, are thoughtful, value education and regular personal growth. For as good as I’ve been to and genuinely loved being that to others; reciprocity in a culture that values things for a whopping two seconds (including other humans), has been a tough road sometimes. Safe to say my toxic trait is thinking others have it in them to be as kind and fair and thoughtful as I’ve always been to others because I literally can’t fathom functioning in any other way. It’s just not that hard. That said, animals have always been consistent and loving and present. When often times humans have not been. To those others out there, who so deeply value the bond we have with our fur babies~ I see you and we are all blessed to have fur babies in our lives. 🐾🪽🪽 (if you don’t like this post, please spare any sh*t comments about kinds of pets you don’t like right now. if that’s what comes to mind, know that animals have been way the heck better in my life cheap, surface level humans who fake everything and wouldn’t see a diamond in front of them if their life depended on it.✌🏽🔥💎)

Anasazi ruins, east of Flagstaff. This is an older pic… but standing in the ruins (permitted to do so), looking out across the sage & the surreal interaction of the most majestic unearthly color scheme for as far as the eye could see…it’s a moment and marked imprint of the fine lines between life and death to me; and of the ethereal or grounded earthly planes or spaces to exist in spiritually and mentally. In the You-Ess (mind blowing I have to watch language now lol), most who live here look at buildings from… (drumroll/ oh wow)… 1970. In some neighborhoods, 1930s… in a few older towns late 1800s. Besides that, one must travel sometimes off grid to the old Native ruins- it’s not something most of us see regularly to remind us of history. In other regions of the world where everyday regular folks are looking at 500 years ago to modievel structures to, oh hey, 300BCE, that’s GOT to be a regular reminder to human conscious to remember and learn from history and not keep making the same mistakes and reinventing the wheel. Our species can actually be intelligent when we choose to use it.
