✨ Live Jazz, Powerful Art, and a Summer Evening in the Studio ✨
Join us Saturday, June 20, from 6–8 PM for our Artist Spotlight event, featuring live music and an inspiring collection of work by two of studio artists, Marcia Selleri and Tinna Patriks Tinna Patriksdóttir Winkler Marcia Selleri

🎷 We’re excited to welcome Joie Joie-Rae Chavez a young saxophonist from Farmington, New Mexico. Her warm, bright sound will set the tone for a beautiful summer evening of art, conversation, and community.

Today we’re highlighting one of our featured artists, Marcia Selleri, and her ceramic sculpture, Harpy.

Fired to cone 10 and created over the course of two weeks, Harpy was both a technical and creative challenge. Because the sculpture sits atop a functioning drawer, Marcia had to carefully balance the weight and structure of the piece while bringing her vision to life.
Inspired by the power of women, ritual, transformation, and the supernatural, Harpy explores the connection between human and bird—symbolizing strength, mystery, and our relationship with the natural world.
When reflecting on the piece, Marcia describes feeling a sense of strength and curiosity, emotions she hopes viewers will experience as well.

Come meet Marcia and Tinna, experience Harpy in person, enjoy live jazz, and celebrate the creativity of our artist community on Saturday, June 20, from 6–8 PM.

✨ Artist Spotlight This Saturday ✨
Join us on Saturday, June 20, from 6–8 PM for our Artist Spotlight event featuring our talented studio artists Tinna Patriks and Marcia Selleri. This special evening is open to everyone, and we invite you to come meet the artist, explore their work, and celebrate creativity!

Live Jazz music will be provided! 🎷

Featured here is Tinna’s beautiful oil painting, Orange Ya Glad.

Created using only five colors—blue, red, yellow, brown, and white—this piece demonstrates the richness and depth that can be achieved through a limited palette. Tinna painted the work using the traditional oil glazing method, building the image through carefully layered applications of paint and allowing each layer to dry before continuing. While the painting required approximately six hours of active painting time, the complete process stretched across two weeks due to drying time between layers.

When asked about her favorite part of creating the piece, Tinna shared, “I love the color orange. You can’t be mad and look at oranges—it’s just not possible.” That sense of warmth and optimism radiates throughout the painting.

The inspiration for Orange Ya Glad came from Tinna’s admiration for Japanese flower arrangements, whose elegance and balance she finds both beautiful and perfectly suited for painting. Through this work, she hopes to evoke feelings of joy, calm, and peace, creating what she describes as “a beautiful, calming background piece.”

grew up drawing and later learned metalworking as a teenager, leading to a career in welding before returning to his artistic roots. Using found objects and a mix of traditional and modern techniques, he creates whimsical sculptures full of character and charm!
