Our Story

Utah's Premiere Family Theatre 9900 Monroe Street Sandy, Utah 84070

Hale Centre Theatre has been operating in Utah since 1985 with tremendous support from local audiences. The Theatre was located on South Main Street from 1985 until 1997 when it became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit community theatre and moved to its second location in West Valley City.

With our shows consistently being sold out, we have now moved to our new location at the Mountain America Performing Arts Centre in Sandy, Utah. We have two theatres in the same building. The Sorenson Legacy Jewel Box Theatre, which is a proscenium thrust stage seating about 450 people. Our Centre Stage Theatre brings our theatre-in-the-round to a new level with a larger stage, and one of the most advanced technical stages in the country. The Centre Stage Theatre is intimate while still seating 900 people.

The Theatre sees many patrons from throughout the Intermountain West each year and has a dedicated season ticket base of more than 24,000. Each season it produces ten productions including dramas, comedies, and musicals. The productions are cast entirely from within the community using local artists who share their talents as a pastime rather than a profession.
