Celebrate the harvest season: Book a facility rental at Sandy Spring Museum!

Make the most of the season in a space designed for gathering and celebration. Enjoy the crisp fall air with a rental of an outdoor space, or watch the leaves turn from the cozy Dr. Bird Room while sharing a meal with friends and family. Bring everyone together in the Willow Grove Cultural Commons for an afternoon of pumpkin carving, or host a costume party in the exhibit hall. Large family gathering? Host Thanksgiving at the museum! With inviting spaces for gatherings of all kinds, it’s the perfect place to create memorable moments this fall.

A quiet pause in the middle of a busy week. At Meditate with a Monk: Blissful Tuesdays on October 6, visitors gathered at Sandy Spring Museum for guided meditation with members of the Mahamevnawa Meditation Center of Greater Washington, D.C.—a chance to slow down and practice together.

A new place to sit, read, and remember. Yesterday, our community gathered to welcome a bronze sculpture honoring beloved local children’s author Larry Callen to the Museum grounds.

Created by his daughter, sculptor Tiffany Carmouche, the sculpture keeps Larry’s love of storytelling close to home. Thank you to Tiffany and everyone who joined us for an afternoon of music, conversation, and connection.

Next time you visit, bring a book and take a seat beside Larry.

Hear original stories, poetry, and essays at the MoCo Underground Writers Showcase; experience flamenco’s cultural roots through live performance at History Happy Hour: Aula de Flamenco; and celebrate the opening of Kianga Jinaki’s I SPEAK WITH CLOTH, featuring a special performance by MORE THAN A DRUM Percussion Ensemble. Volunteer Day, Meditate with a Monk, and Friday Flow offer more ways to participate, pause, and reconnect.
