Sweet Memories from the 2026 Strawberry Festival! ๐Ÿ“๐ŸŽ‰โœจ

We had the most wonderful time celebrating with our incredible community at the 2026 Strawberry Festival! From the very first bite of the world's greatest strawberry shortcake to the non-stop live music across two stages, it was a giant community party to remember.

Whether you were exploring the petting zoo, joining the shortcake-eating contest, shopping from 50+ local craft vendors, or rocking a strawberry spirit costume, your energy made the day truly magical.

A massive thank you to all the phenomenal performers, talented artists, local vendors, generous sponsors, and dedicated volunteers who poured their hearts into making this day so special. We are already looking forward to 2027! ๐Ÿ“โค๏ธ

A Spectacular Journey to Indonesia: Dance & Martial Arts Experience ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ฉโœจ

This past Sunday, our museum was alive with the vibrant colors and incredible energy of Indonesian culture! Families and cultural enthusiasts gathered for Spotlight of Indonesia, a beautiful afternoon where every performance told a rich story.

We were mesmerized by the graceful movements of the Balinese Pendet dance and the powerful coordination of the Saman dance from Aceh, beautifully performed by Spotlight Academy USA. This yearโ€™s event also featured a thrilling, high-speed Pencak Silat martial arts demonstration by the Williamsburg Dojo team, bringing incredible strength and excitement to the stage. Complete with authentic Indonesian bites and drinks, it was an unforgettable celebration of community and heritage across generations. Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make it a sold-out success!

๐Ÿ‘‰ The cultural adventures continue all summer long! We have a diverse lineup of upcoming workshops, festivals, and community events waiting for you. Explore our full event calendar here: https://ow.ly/wK3E50Zc7LE

[Reflecting on History and Responsibility: Yesterday's History Happy Hour ๐Ÿ“–๐ŸŒฟ]

Yesterday evening, we gathered for a deeply moving and thought-provoking edition of History Happy Hour: Unsettled Ground.

Author Jeffrey L. Katz, drawing from his personal perspective as the child of Holocaust survivors, joined Ellen McDonnell for a powerful, moderated conversation. Together, they explored Germanyโ€™s decades-long, uneven efforts to confront Nazi-era atrocities, the motivations of memory activists, and what these complex lessons about remembrance, responsibility, and reconciliation mean for all of us today. Thank you to everyone who joined us for this meaningful dialogue, picked up a signed book, and shared in this vital conversation.

Our monthly explorations of history and culture continue this summer with another essential topic. Join us on Thursday, July 16 (6:30โ€“8:00 pm) for the next History Happy Hour: Quantifying Reparations with economic expert Dr. Coleman Bazelon. Dr. Bazelon will approach the historical question of chattel slavery through an economic lens, exploring what it means to measure and quantify centuries of stolen life and labor, and how economic analysis informs contemporary policy discussions.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Continue the conversation with us.
