Every year, Sandwich comes together to celebrate the 4th of July with a day full of community, pride, and tradition. But behind every road race, parade float, and picnic activity are volunteers who make it all possible.

This year, we need your help.

We’re looking for volunteers to assist with our Road Race, Parade, and Picnic in the Park. Individuals, families, civic groups, local clubs, businesses, and organizations are all welcome to join us. Even a few hours of your time can make a big impact.

If you’ve ever enjoyed the festivities, now is the perfect time to be part of what makes them happen. Help us create an amazing celebration for our community and visitors alike. ❤️🤍💙

🏡🌾The 2026 Museum Season Begins June 12!

The Hoxie House Museum and Dexter Grist Mill Museum are opening for the 2026 season, and we can’t wait to welcome visitors back for another year of exploring Sandwich’s rich past.

Monday–Saturday: 11:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Sunday: 1:00 PM – 4:30 PM

🎟 Admission to both museums
Adults: $5
Children (9–12): $3
Children 8 and under: FREE

Located on scenic Shawme Pond at the corner of Water Street and Grove Street in Sandwich Village

Help Sandwich Celebrate America's 250th Anniversary by Flying the American Flag!

The Town of Sandwich is inviting residents, businesses, civic organizations, and community groups to fly the American flag from Flag Day (June 14) through Independence Day (July 4) as we join communities across the nation in commemorating 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

As the oldest town on Cape Cod and one of the oldest towns in America, Sandwich has a unique connection to our nation's history. A community-wide display of American flags will serve as a visible tribute to that shared heritage and the civic pride that continues to bring us together.

🎾🏓 Great News, Tennis and Pickleball Players! 🎾🏓

The Sandwich Recreation Department is happy to announce that the windscreens have been restored at the tennis and pickleball courts!

We would like to extend a sincere thank you to our DPW team for making this project possible. During one of their busiest times of the year, they took the time to help get the windscreens installed for the many tennis and pickleball players who have been anxiously awaiting their return. Their hard work and partnership help keep our recreational facilities looking great and ready for the community to enjoy.

Thank you to all of our tennis and pickleball players and court users for your patience throughout the process. Now it’s time to get back out there and enjoy the courts!

🚚🇺🇸 The Sandwich Recreation Department is seeking food truck vendors for our upcoming 4th of July celebrations! 🚚🇺🇸

We are looking for vendors who may be available for one or both of the following events:

📅 June 27
🎶 Concert on the Hill | 7:00 PM–9:00 PM
🎆 Fireworks immediately following the concert

📅 July 4
🏃 Road Race | 8:00 AM
🎺 Parade | 10:30 AM
🌳 Picnic in the Park | 11:00 AM–2:00 PM

While the July 4th festivities begin with the Road Race and Parade, food trucks would need to arrive around 10:15 AM to avoid road closures and be ready for the Picnic in the Park.

All vendors must comply with Board of Health requirements, and paperwork must be submitted and approved a couple weeks prior to the event. Because of these requirements, we encourage interested vendors to reach out as soon as possible.
