Though it feels far off now, we'll eventually close out our summer the last weekend of August with our second staged reading:

Paris and Juliet by Sarah Kate O’Haver
August 29-30 at 5:00 pm
The Bearcamp Center, South Tamworth NH

A partner to our mainstage production. In this play, "Middle aged Romeo breaks banishment and returns to Verona to pursue a ta**ry affair with his now-married, star-crossed paramour twenty years after (most of) the events in Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet." The August 30th performance will also feature a talkback between the playwright Sarah Kate O'Haver and director (of this as well as our main stage production of *Romeo & Juliet*) Sarah Corbyn Woolf.

Next up, our main stage production, Romeo & Juliet! This production has been over a year in the making and we're so excited to finally bring it to not only Quimby Park but our continuing partner, Castle in the Clouds!

July 31 - August 9
Romeo & Juliet by William Shakespeare
July 31, August 1, 8, 9 at 5:00 pm in Quimby Park, Sandwich NH
August 2, 5, 6, 7 at 4:45 pm at Castle in the Clouds, Moultonborough NH

This play is the gateway to Shakespeare for so many, and we are delighted to bring our take on it to the region. Our production will explore how earnestness and eagerness collide in great joy, great tragedy, and above all, great hope. We’ll poke at some assumptions about this story, dig into just how awkward two teenagers can be, and seek subtle, deep truths about family, community, and love.

We’ve partnered once again with Castle in the Clouds to bring half of our performances not only onto their grounds but up to the Lucknow Mansion itself, with our playing space nestled in the back garden as well as – you guessed it – on the balcony. The other half of our run will return to Quimby Park in Sandwich, NH, our creative home base, where we are so grateful to rehearse and perform year after year.

As always, our cast features both new and familiar faces. Juliet is played by Eliana Weiss, who most recently graced our stage as Richard III in 2025. Romeo is played by company newcomer Beks Roen. The rest of this lively team includes Frederick Bickford, Chris Boldt, Liz Burdick, Shea Flanagan, Ethan Fifield, Noa Hellquist, Martha Nichols, Kailey Potter, Lucy Randall-Tapply, and Tom Shane. It is stage managed by Savannah Muzzey and directed by Sarah Corbyn Woolf.

Artwork by the ever-brilliant Aislinn Hird.

We're thrilled to finally announce our full 2026 summer season, kicking off with the first of two staged readings:

Viragos by Katherine E. Norman
June 26-27 at 5:00 pm
Sandwich Town Hall, Sandwich NH

"Women didn’t act in plays in Shakespeare’s England. For that, they had to go to France. 'Viragos' follows a group of young Englishwomen as they rehearse a play at The Institute—Mary Ward’s school for girls founded in France, 1609. Through their rehearsals, the girls test the boundaries of art, science, love, and politics, as the shadow of the Inquisition looms. Verbatim text illuminates this factually-inspired fiction of a true story too-long buried by history."

More interested in Shakespeare's fools than April's fools? Become a sustaining donor of our sweet Shakespeare company today!

Fun fact about running a company like ours: cash flow is radically different from quarter to quarter. Without getting into the nitty gritty, that pendulum makes some wide swings between income and expense throughout the year.

A proven method for managing this is through a community of sustaining donors. Monthly, automated contributions help us make sure we’re shipshape throughout the year.

Our current recurring donors make up a TINY portion of our wider community. We see you! we thank you! and we think there should be more of you!

Please join us in this campaign for consistent cash that will support our staff, space, and season, no matter the month.

A newcomer to ATTP, Beks Roen will be taking on the role of Romeo this summer, and exploring an unusual interpretation of the role. We hope you'll follow along with this three part series of their conversation with 'Romeo & Juliet' director Sarah Corbyn Woolf, documenting their exploration and creative process, hosted on their content platform for q***r fantasy and Shakespeare, Roguish Goblin Stories!
