Before the “Triangle” intersection on the way to Tinkertown was transformed into a traffic circle, Ross Ward created and installed an enormous sign directing visitors to the Sandia Crest. With construction of the “Circle” near completion, the sign has been moved to the side, but it still stands. Check it out on your way to visit us at the museum!

Michael McCormick, who helped create iconic creatures for Jim Henson and George Lucas, died in his Albuquerque studio.

Ross Ward began work on his miniature circus when he was a teenager in Aberdeen, South Dakota. He often recounted the excitement of getting up early to greet the dawn arrival of the circus train and the thrill of joining with other volunteers to help set up the tent!

Located on Route 66 in the heart of the Mojave Desert, Elmer’s Bottle Tree Ranch is a labor of love. Creator, Elmer Long passed on in 2019, but his son, Elliott and caretaker, Brian, have been maintaining this magical wonderland. The last time we paid a visit, there were so many birds, the air was alive with song. They must love those glass trees!
