Dear Friends,
It is with a heavy heart that I announce the closing of Whitney Kyzer School of Dance.
There is simply not enough consistent interest to sustain operating the studio.
After much prayer and consideration, I feel peace with my decision and satisfaction knowing that I gave my very best to my students by standing firm in my philosophy of what dance education should look like. My heart breaks to know that I am disappointing many sweet, talented girls whom I will terribly miss teaching.
I admit that it is a sad commentary that will be added to an ever-growing list of recreational dance studios that have fallen to school-based programs and studios focused on competitive and commercial ventures. It seems that the small town dance studio era is a thing of the past. Given the chance to do it again, I wouldn’t change a thing about my approach.
There is no way that I could settle for compromising quality, safety, ethics, etc. for the sake of quantity or personal gain. While this mindset might not make me very business-savvy, it does reflect the value system that I firmly believe in. At the end of the day, integrity and character is all that matters.
After four years of serving and investing in the same community that invested in my dance education, I have been uplifted and blessed by those who have been so supportive of my small business. These people and memories have made an indelible mark on my life, and for that I am very grateful.
I have enjoyed a wonderful working relationship during my lease with MTC Holdings, and appreciate the owners allowing me to operate my studio smoothly from their beautiful, historic property.
Voted “Best Dance Studio” for three consecutive years by Sandersville Scene magazine, Whitney Kyzer School Of Dance invested in the future of dance education as a member of various local, state, and national organizations.
Thank you, each and every dancer who has entered my studio doors, for your loyalty and support. My hope is that each of my dancers not only gained proficiency and healthy confidence in their artistic endeavors, but that they always move gracefully and purposefully throughout their lives.
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him who have been called according to His purpose.”—Romans 8:28 (NIV)
Respectfully,
Whitney Kyzer
