Hello FLAG Supporters,

It's time to get ready for our Annual Fall Show which is tentatively set to open on Thursday, October 6 from 5:30 - 7:00 pm at the Development Authority/Chamber of Commerce at 603 South Harris Street, Sandersville, Ga. This will be the first FLAG show that's open to all artists in our area since COVID and we are really excited about getting this re-started. This year we'd like to offer the opportunity to participate to all area artists, even if they are not current members of FLAG. So please spread the word to anyone who might be interested. Each artist may enter three pieces of art. These pieces will either be hung in the Gallery at the DA/Chamber or the Board of Commissioners' Office on Jones Street in Sandersville.

Art will be accepted at the DA/Chamber on September 22 and 23 from 3:00 - 6:00 pm. The documents needed for entry are attached. They will provide specifics for hanging. The show will end on December 9 and pick up details will be available when art is delivered.

We hope you are as excited as we are about getting this show restarted and we hope to see you at the opening.

Please be sure to stop by the Chamber of Commerce building to see the Student Art! We have posted a photo of an acrylic entitled "Fun at the Fair" by TJ Elder Middle Schooler Kai Li Guo. There are about 50 pieces up in the studio art show so please be sure to enjoy them Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The crowd really enjoyed seeing all the great local student art of Middle and High Schoolers at yesterday's opening! If you missed it, the art will remain up at the Washington County Chamber of Commerce through September 24 so please make time to go by and visit!

We were saddened to learn only today that Shinji Harada of Japan passed away in 2017 of asthma. Shinji's amazing work won five awards in our International Exhibition. His death is a loss to the art world and to the colored pencil world in particular.

This image is his piece that was an award winner in 2013.

Oconee Cultural Arts Foundation (OCAF) in Watkinsville, GA presents their 2022 Winter Exhibitions, featuring Southworks.

The 27th Annual SouthWorks Exhibition, a nationally juried art exhibition, features approximately 150 two- and three-dimensional works of art in various media. The artists range from established professionals to talented emerging artists and the art runs the gamut from painting, to sculpture, photography, ceramics and more.

The exhibits will be available for viewing until February 28th, 2022. You're welcome to stop by on Tuesdays-Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
