I’m cranky.

$1.7 + billion dollars for the most unnecessary and destructive act towards the Big Bend Region has been awarded. The National Park, the State Park, the Wild and Scenic River, private land and ranches, and more… destroyed for the misunderstanding of what they don’t know.

CBP has extended their comments through 5/22. Leave em an email - let em know how you feel about your tax dollars decimating Texas land.

One of my favorite blooms this time of year is the Desert Bird of Paradise Shrub 🌼

This unique and fun bloom happens usually around the end of April/ beginning of May and is truly a sight to see. At first, I wasn’t sure how I felt about this painting, but I think it may be growing on me 😉

“Rio Tobacco”

On Saturday I took the day and spent it in solitude within Big Bend. I spent most of my time on the Rio, soaking in the sights and smells, knowing that everything I was enjoying, is under threat.

For goodness sake. Why? Greed. Ego. Fear. I’ll tell you what… I’ll never feel more safe than I do when I’m in God’s presence, sitting under a mesquite’s shade and watching His creation flow with the wind alongside the mighty and muddy Rio Grande.
