A Matter of Art

Well, I'm back! For those who don't know, I had my son in April and I'm finally ready to start the workshops that I helped start with .

I have a renewed passion for homemaking and all the arts that go with it. You may see workshops in the future on canning, sourdough, gardening, decluttering, and organizing! I'll be asking professionals in their field to lead some of the workshops and I'll be leading a few of my own--starting with this one.

I spent half of my second and most of my third trimesters crocheting anything I could get my hands on! Blankets, sweaters, amigurimi stuffed animals, and even experimenting with my own patterns.

That being said, I want to share my love of crochet with anyone who has the least bit of interest in learning! Send this to someone you know who would enjoy something like this! Along with learning the basics, you'll get 3 original patterns from yours truly. 🧶

I've been receiving messages from several people requesting more "Ask the Pastor" episodes. So my dad and I are teaming up again to get your Bible questions answered! You'll see one about every month or so.

Your questions do not need to go along with the specific reading plan I recorded. As long as it's Bible related, we'll address them! You can send your questions to me via Instagram, Facebook, and email.

All questions will be anonymous--no judgement here! We're just excited to help you dig into your Bible and what God says about life and how to have a real relationship with Him. It's not about religion--it's a relationship! Get to know your Bible and Savior better!

I haven't posted in a while... But I thought this was worth sharing!

When I had the idea to create this podcast it was just intended for my church family. To my shock, as I embarked on the journey the numbers kept going up. I never expected for it to do as well as it has! God is so good! He had taken a project I started to help my depression and made it something I never could have planned or done on my own!

Thank you to all who have supported me and listened! I pray that this podcast continues to reach people for the glory of God! ❤️

Well, I made it! I just finished recording the last episode. I still have to edit and upload the remaining ones, but they're recorded!

This has been the biggest project I have ever done. I don't know what I was thinking starting something like this 7 months pregnant... What a crazy person thing to do! 🤦🏽‍♀️ But my family supported me and made it possible to get it done by watching the baby while I recorded. (You may hear her in the background of one or two days.)

I can't believe it's been almost one year of working on this! In some ways I'll miss it. It's been a constant in my life--but I'm glad to be done. I can focus on being a mom more and I have this to use next year!

As the current podcast begins winding down, I'm looking forward to the next project! 🎤

Something that has struck me recently from the reading is God's timing in each story and how our attitude has an impact on the outcome.

Take David and Saul as an example. God really put David to the test when he was hiding from Saul and running for his life. But when you read the Psalms that David wrote, you see that he still is trusting God in the midst of that. Unlike Saul, who treats God like a lucky charm and doesn't actually follow his commands. And instead goes to the witch of Endor and conjures up Samuel when he doesn't get the answers he wants.

Also, I think having to read it out loud has made me notice how action-packed all of the stories really are! I have never read Acts and been more enthralled in the stories than this time through! A lot of craziness goes down! I can't imagine actually being there and getting to witness Pentecost or Paul preaching and being such a strong testimony for the lord!

Happy Sunday everyone! I wanted to share with you an update about the podcast. If you are reading/listening through the 5 day Bible reading plan that I am using and have questions as you're reading (like I do), than this is the post for you!

Starting now, send this page or my "A Matter of Art" instagram page your questions and once or twice a month I'll be doing a bonus interview style podcast with my dad to answer as many questions about what we're reading as we can!

I had many questions about Leviticus and Numbers and I'm sure you did too--like "why do we need to read this today?" and "what am I supposed to get from this?" So those will be addressed in the first bonus episode along with any that you provide! I can't wait to see your questions!
