❤️‍🩹 BELIEVE! ❤️‍🩹

Today we celebrated Debby Strenkofsky’s Debby Strenkofsky SIX month anniversary from her double knee replacement surgery in our Stop Drop and Dance class!

Not only is she dancing 60 minutes 2-3x a week, but she also helps to lead our Wednesday 75 minute Strength and Stretch class on Zoom!

We also sent our love and prayers to Laura Briggs Laura Briggs who has been recovering from her breast cancer surgery. She is beginning her first day of a month of daily radiation tomorrow.

Physical healing, mental healing, spiritual healing…
we need ALL three! Plus a community of friends and family that send us positive healing energy!

Everyone faces different types of life challenges but we hope that Debby’s and Laura’s story can inspire you!

BELIEVE you will recover.
BELIEVE you will heal.
BELIEVE you will overcome.

Whatever you are facing…
It’s not easy, but it is possible…

🩷An update on Laura’s breast cancer journey…🩷

Thank you to this beautiful community for all your prayers, thoughts, meals, gifts, and support for Laura Briggs these past few months.

Laura had a successful breast surgery at the end of June and was finally recovered enough to be able to come to class for the first time this week. We were thrilled to dance with her again!

Next in Laura’s journey will be 4 weeks of radiation everyday, followed by medications, but everything looks good and she is on her way to conquering her breast cancer completely.

Please keep Laura in your prayers, and for those of you who are also going through a season of darkness and difficulty, know you are not alone in your journey. You’ve got this. 🩷

💜 Happy Birthday Lisa Hudson & Sarah Irving! 💜

Thank you to everyone who came to class on Saturday in-person or on Zoom to celebrate Lisa Hudson and Sarah Irving! Lisa chose the songs for our 60 minute Stop Drop and Dance class and chose the theme, “Wear what brings YOU joy!”

In addition to our regular dancers and Lisa’s besties, Catherine Granville and Shannon Bindler, Ariana Amini, Renee Kessler Miller, and Susie Picken joined our class! Also, even though it was her first class, we were thrilled to find out it was Sarah Irving’s birthday too, and she came with her new friends, Kate Oppenheimer, Ashley Valentine, and Tara McDill! Welcome also to Lisa Long Butcher’s friend, Laurence Kahn, and her friend Doreen visiting from Florida!

Regular dancers or new dancers, we welcome you all and we love that you are part of our joyful community!

✨Celebrate Lisa Hudson This Saturday!✨

Please join us this Saturday, August 8th, at 9:30am for a special 60 minute Stop Drop and Dance class to celebrate Lisa Hudson’s Lisa Hudson birthday!

We are honored that Lisa has danced with us since our pre-pandemic days at Marin Power Yoga. When she is not dancing in-person in Marin, she is logging in on Zoom from sunny Palm Springs! And, we have the honor of dancing three special events with Lisa every year:

1) Every August for Lisa’s own birthday (THIS Saturday!)
2) Every October for her B4BC (Boarding for Breast Cancer) fundraiser - SAVE THE DATE: Saturday, October 3rd, 2026!
3) Every January for her son, Shayne’s, heavenly birthday.

❤️ Happy Birthday Kathleen Dowd and thank you for raising $1395 for Communi-T! ❤️

On Saturday morning, we had the pleasure of celebrating Kathleen Dowd’s birthday Kathleen (Kate) Dowd for the third year in a row with a 60 minute Stop Drop and Dance fundraiser class at !

This year, Kathleen chose to raise money for an organization called Communi-T, which has a vision of creating a future where every family, regardless of their background, has access to equitable, high-quality maternity care during the most critical moments of their lives.

Kathleen chose the songs for her playlist and the theme was GLAM GIRLS! Thank you to all of you who were able to join in-person or online on Zoom! A special shout-out goes to Kathleen’s special guests including her sister, Kristen Kristen Dowd Addicks, her daughter, Annika, her daughter’s boyfriend, Cameron, her 8-month-pregnant niece, Annalise, and her friend, Glenda!

We are so grateful for your kindness, generosity, and support, in celebrating Kathleen’s birthday in the most meaningful and impactful way: giving back to our community!

Please join us this Saturday, July 25th, from 9:30am-10:30am (240 Channing Way in San Rafael) as we celebrate Kathleen Dowd’s Kathleen (Kate) Dowd Birthday by raising money for Communi-T! The theme will be GLAM GIRLS, so please come in comfortable clothes and shoes that shine!

A note from Kathleen:

“I chose this organization because I’ve been involved in raising money and advocating for improving maternal and reproductive health for decades.

CommuniT Is an organization started by a young entrepreneurial woman who is creating mobile clinics to provide care for immigrant communities and communities who cannot receive care otherwise.

She is buying vans and outfitting them as clinics, and hiring midwives to provide the care.

I want to support her important work and the communities she serves.”

🤣 “DROP DOWN” BLOOPER! 🤣

Just another day in one of our classes! Every class has a little bit of unpredictable magic in it and this morning’s class was truly unforgettable!

Lisa Butcher just returned 24 hours ago from a week-long water polo boat trip in Croatia, and this was her first class back! A little jet lag and sea legs is to blame for this stumble to the floor (!), but it didn’t stop her from literally bouncing right back up and continuing the choreography! Thank goodness her ankle was fine!

Real.
Funny.
Messy.
Silly.

Playful.

Loving.
Joyful.

⚽️ Happy Birthday Erin Meyers! ⚽️

Last week we celebrated our Fourth of July baby, Erin Meyers with a World Cup themed class! Thank you to everyone who came to dance with Erin, wearing different team jerseys and colors, and to Sara Rainbolt and Sandy Aley for coming early to decorate Erin’s decorations!

Erin is a huge part of our community who is often behind-the-scenes organizing our community gatherings, helping to set up for our events, or planning meal trains for dancers in need. She is extremely thoughtful as shown by her effort to bring backdrop decorations every time there is a special celebration for someone in class. Most of all, Erin is welcoming to everyone in class and always extends a friendly smile and conversation with dancers around her. We are so lucky to have Erin as part of our dance family!

Happy Birthday Erin, Happy 250th Birthday America, and Go Team USA!
