We’ve had the pleasure of working with a lot over the last few years, so it was such a treat to get him up to the studio this spring to record Bell Curve Line.

We love this track and we’re proud it all came together in house. recorded, mixed, mastered, and played organ, and handled the artwork.

In this video we give you a demo of the vintage M610N through our 1073MPL 500 series unit.

I give some brief thoughts on the mic while speaking into it and then record a quick demo featuring acoustic guitar, electric guitar, drums and synth all using the Beyerdynamic M610N into the 1073MPL 500 series preamp.

This is not a typical gear review video and more just a demonstration of some of the equipment we have and some of the sounds possible at Middle Ridge Studio.

These videos are less a typical microphone and preamp review and more about the sounds you can get with them and the sounds of the studio.

While I find product reviews super helpful, I also find them to be not the most creative experience. This short format feels a bit more fun and creative. I hope you keep enjoying them. We’re planning on having more after this one very soon

I tried out a few mics in the session, but ended up going with the two Bang and Olufsen BM2’s, Danish Ribbons from the 1950’s.
