Happy birthday and congratulations to our Director of Choral Activities, Dr. Joey M. Martin!

On Monday, Dr. Martin was celebrated as the faculty recipient at the TXST Dean’s Seminar. His presentation, “From Southwest Oklahoma to South Africa-A Journey with Choral Music throughout the World,” beautifully highlighted his remarkable and inspiring contributions to the choral world. We feel truly grateful to have Dr. Martin as our passionate leader.

Congratulations to Mason Asberry for being selected to participate in the Conducting Masterclass at the SWACDA 2026 Conference! Mason is a senior majoring in Music Studies (Education) at Texas State University. We are very proud of you, Mason! 
 
If you’re attending the SWACDA Conference (March 4–7, Albuquerque), we encourage you to support Mason by attending the Undergraduate Masterclass on Wednesday, March 4th, from 2:30 to 4:30pm. Mason will work with clinician Dr. A Jan Taylor.
