I sit here, trying to figure out the best way to share this news…to try to find the good in this situation but I’m struggling.
My dad was officially diagnosed with ALS in the spring. This is a battle he has been quietly fighting for some time and after much convincing to get him back to the doctor, our greatest fears were confirmed - our dad is being slowly taken away from us.
I’m sharing this asking for love, support, and prayers…whatever your beliefs are, please just send everything our way. ALS has no cure and shows no mercy. We need prayers for strength, for courage, and for comfort.
If you’re a friend or loved one of my dad’s, please reach out. Send him some text messages of love, encouragement, and humor. He might not be able to talk anymore but his sense of humor and wit is still 100% there.
We don’t know what the future brings for our family but we’re doing our best to take it one day at a time. We’ve got a very long and difficult road ahead. Thank you to everyone who has already reached out.
