DEAR COMMUNITY,
It saddens us to announce that in the midst of a worldwide pandemic and mandatory business closures, A Colorful Universe has decided to close our doors indefinitely. While this is one of the toughest decisions we have endured, we want to thank our community for the constant love and support during our 11 years of business. We love San Elijo Hills and we feel very blessed to have spent our time in such a welcoming neighborhood where we have watched many of your families grow.
While we are so saddened to see the end of this chapter for us, we do want you to know that we have chosen to pay it forward. We will take any un-purchased and unused supplies to raise money for special causes. We hope this encourages everyone to change their perspective during these times, as we are all very fortunate to be a part of a safe and beautiful community.

Clay ’N Latte, located in Vista, has been so supportive and has offered space for all remaining fired pottery pieces to be picked up at their location. Please be mindful that this was a voluntary way for Clay ‘N Latte to help A Colorful Universe and our customers. They are also dealing with the stress of Covid and we ask that you support them, as they too, are a mom and pop shop just like A Colorful Universe.
Becky Maiefski, the owner of Clay ’N Latte has been in business for over 23 years. Becky gives back to the community and has always had an open door policy. When we needed help, she has always been there. When our kiln went down, She offered hers. When we ran out of paint, she supplied us with more. She really has been supportive through the process of closing our doors. Please be patient should they need time to adjust to the situation. If you are picking up your fired pieces, calling ahead of time would be helpful.

KILN LOAD
While we will no longer operate the kiln past Sunday, Becky from Clay ‘N Latte has willingly opened her doors to fire any pieces you may have. Through January, with your proof of purchase from A Colorful Universe, pieces will be fired free of charge at Clay 'N Latte. After 30 days, additional studio fees may apply.
If you cannot make it to Clay ‘N Latte to drop off your pieces, we encourage you to use acrylic paints at home for your project.
From the energetic excitement of our kid’s camps to the relaxing ambiance of our adult paint nights, we want to thank each and every one of you for creating these memories with us. We hope we have impacted your lives in one creative way or another and we hope you know how much we appreciate you supporting our small family business!
