Players West is a dynamic new theatre company based on California’s beautiful Central Coast for actors of all ages. We are dedicated to bringing high-caliber, insightful, enlightening, and entertaining performances to the area. Introducing Players West!
Players West is the newest member of the Coastal Performing Arts Foundation* family. Players West serves San Luis Obispo County and northern Santa Barbara County. Its purpose is to bring high-quality theatrical experiences to performers, production staff, backstage craftspeople, and audience members. Our partner company, Coastal Youth Theatre, has been providing fun and educational theatre to the area's youth (ages 8-18) for over a decade. Players West gives those students who have aged out of the CYT program a place to continue their artistic journeys and a new opportunity for other local artists, creatives, and audiences to enjoy. Players West is open to actors of all ages (depending on the show). Our first production is a drama, The Baby Dance, which features five adult actors. Following this summer will be our first musical, Footloose. The cast of Footloose is much larger and could include kids as young as 8 and adults well into their golden years. 🧜‍♂️ Auditions will be held this Saturday, January 6th, at FLEX Performing Arts in Grover Beach from 1:00pm-8:30pm by appointment only. Callbacks will be held by invitation only on Sunday, January 7th.

🎵 For your audition, please prepare 1 minute of a song, preferably musical theater, with music on a device and a monologue between 1-2 minutes in length.

FREE Youth Comedy Workshop

WORKSHOP ALERT 🚨

Coastal Youth Theater is happy to be hosting an incredible comedy workshop on the Central Coast by the one-and-only Danielle Durbin!

Spend some time diving into what makes different kinds of humor work in different spaces, character creation, and timing! Finding your comedic voice is one of the things that makes you a diverse and well-rounded performer and makes you stand out in an audition or rehearsal space. In this workshop, you will be diving into some rules of comedy, dabble in some improv, and do scene work with classic sketches that have withstood the test of time.

Danielle is a Central Coast native who has spent the last 10 years producing, writing, and performing sketch and stand-up comedy in Chicago. Her most recent work with CYT was directing Seussical Jr., and we are so excited to bring her back to offer this workshop to those really wanting to tap into their comedic skills.
