Recently read The Whole Brain Child parenting book by Dan Siegel and looved every page of it!
I am reminded of Dan Siegel's work as I watch this mama interact with her little one through my camera lens.πΈπ
I see a mama staying attuned to her child's needs and using her right brain emotional responses to meet his right brain emotional expressions.
"As children develop, their brains "mirror" their parent's brains." π§ πͺ
So essentially, the mother's health is e.v.e.r.y.t.h.i.n.g, and how we respond to our child deeply impacts their brain development.πΏ
As healthy mothers, we help our children integrate their right brain (emotional self) with their left brain (logical self). β¨
This gives them the foundation to build healthy relationships, good self-control, and emotional and mental well-being for their lifetime. πΏ
Isn't this what every mama wants for her children? To grow and become happy, healthy, and integrated human beings. β¨
I believe so, and I also think as mothers, we naturally demonstrate this approach when we feel healthy & integrated within ourselves. πΏ
Do you have any favorite parenting books?? π
I'd love to know what other mamas are currently reading. Especially as my child enters the toddler phase! ππΌπ
