Escaped the 805 for the 559 for some quiet time in the Sierras before the beautiful chaos of the new Cal Poly school year starts. 10 out of 10, highly recommend.

The kiddo and I went whale watching yesterday with Morro Bay Whale Watching | Sub Sea Tours & Kayaks and had an amazing time watching and learning about the HUGE pod of Common Dolphins and the humpbacks that were out there. We saw much more than I could capture quickly with my lens, including double and quadruple lunge feedings! Where up to four whales would emerge, mouth first, at once to feed. Some of us even saw a breech! Would definitely go again….and again, and again. 🤩

Enjoyed exploring the new trail system in the Bowden Ranch Open Space. It’s not quite done yet, and is partially blocked by organic fire prevention methods 🐐 at the moment, but is a really lovely trail that gives you a longer, less steep, experience than the original trail, which it does connect with in a couple of places. Thanks to all the rangers and volunteers helping to build it! SLO Parks & Rec

Beautiful evening visiting with family staying in Cayucos for a little summer getaway. Didn’t quite have the lens for it, but we definitely saw some active whales feeding in the distance too. 🤩 🐋👉
