Like many community organizations, SLOCAC operations have been affected by COVID-19. Notably, SLOCAC has had to cancel all in person events for the year, resulting in refunding over $10,000 of pre-paid tickets, which directly affected our operational costs.
Like many public programs, SLO County Arts has had to work around reduced grant income this year due to a funding cut from the County.
Our goal of $16,000 would cover one fifth of our operating costs for 2021 and make up for 45% of our grant funding deficit this year.
We have adjusted temporarily to a virtual experience for all of our programming. Most of the virtual events are free or substantially discounted.
We are determined to continue our programming and offer resources for our community. Our new Board of Directors is concentrating on ways to organize, streamline operations, and re-establish programs that have faded over the years.
Our Board envisions a future in which:
SLOCAC runs out of a functional art space, allowing us to highlight visual, performing and literary artists.
SLOCAC is guided by a paid and full-time Executive Director, allowing us to maintain consistent leadership and vision.
The Board is determined to graduate SLOCAC into the vital and vibrant entity our arts community deserves. With your help, we can make these dreams a reality!
