Cal Poly Arts

Cal Poly Arts Bringing the best in professional performing arts entertainment to the Central Coast of California.

Today, Cal Poly Arts presents the highest quality and most extensive range of regional, national and international touring shows and artists on the Central Coast. Cal Poly Arts was formed in 1985 as a small classical music presenter. By 1988, the presenting series was expanded to include theatre, dance, and jazz events; by 1990, Cal Poly Arts had integrated world music/dance, folk/traditional musi

c, and family programming into the series. Cal Poly Arts spearheaded the drive to build a new venue and in 1996, the Performing Arts Center opened and the organization again expanded the scope of its programming by including speakers, comics, pop/country music acts, and the impressive Broadway touring show series.

At the end of May, we welcomed singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Kishi Bashi for a curated multi-day engagement along the Central Coast.

From a SOLD OUT concert at Sensorio beneath the glow of a signature Paso Robles sunset and the infamous Field of Light installation, to an inspiring workshop for Atascadero High School students, an intimate guest reception at the San Luis Obispo Museum of Art, and a SOLD OUT screening of "Omoiyari: A Song Film by Kishi Bashi" at the Palm Theatre, audiences across the Central Coast experienced the artistry, storytelling, and creativity that make Kishi Bashi such a remarkable performer.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and to our generous sponsors for making this artist engagement possible: Dr. Christopher Payne & Dr. Jeannette Potts, Sharon & John Dobson, KCBX, KSBY, and the Cal Poly Office of Culture & Institutional Excellence.
