So I was making an Uruk hai parer and there was a very minuscule warp that could’ve easily been fixed at the grinder. Buuuut I decided to try and see if I could straighten it with a ball peen hammer instead, cuz, ya know… science! Short story short, that did not work. Good thing there’s a well known motto in the industry that “Knifemakers don’t make mistakes, they make smaller knives”. And here a smaller knife is. I do like the profile so I’m debating on stenciling it and offering as made to order going forward… so lemme know if you think I should
The blade is hand forged from 1095 high carbon steel and has a bunch of forge texture on the flats and ricasso in contrast with machined bevels. For the patina, I went with my signature “Lonely Saturday Night” finish for rust prevention and also just cuz it looks hella rad. The handle is some Garandillo wood with white and black g10 layering and a double dyed maple Burl bolster. This one is prettttty classy IMO and was def fun to sort out along the way.
