🪶 Join the Powwow Planning Circle: Subcommittee Volunteers NEEDED
Join one of our subcommittees!
The 16th Annual BAAITS Two-Spirit Powwow is coming on Saturday, February 6, 2027,
at the Fort Mason Festival Pavilion, and planning is already well underway! Every year,
this gathering is carried by the love, time, and skills of our community. This year, we
are calling in more relatives to join 5 subcommittees that need your energy..
Volunteer Subcommittee.
Help lead, guide, and support the volunteers who make the Week of Events and
Powwow possible. This team recruits volunteers, coordinates shifts and roles, and
makes sure every volunteer feels prepared, supported, and confident..
Food Vendor Subcommittee
Food brings us together. Help connect with food vendors who reflect Indigenous and
Two-Spirit values, coordinate before and during the Powwow, and work through food
safety and Fort Mason permit needs. Together we can create a nourishing welcoming
food space for everyone..
Disability Justice Subcommittee.
This is the first year the Powwow has a dedicated Disability Justice subcommittee!
Help us build on last year’s work so that access is every part of the gathering..
Hospitality Subcommittee.
Help us care for our dancers, guests, elders, and honored relatives. From warm
welcomes to making sure people have what they need, this team makes sure everyone
who arrives feels at home..
Logistics Subcommittee.
This team is the backbone of the Powwow. They handle set-up and breakdown, site
layout, equipment, and safety from the first table to the last chair..
Subcommittees currently meet every two weeks, and meetings may move to weekly
starting in November. No experience is needed, just a good heart and willingness to
show up..
