Tomorrow night! Beginner Night Club Two Step at 8pm, followed by our usual practice party!

Night Club Two Step is a fun, easy social partner dance that teaches important beginning skills, and can be danced to smooth, dreamy, and romantic music styles, like certain ballads and "slow jams".

I hope you'll check it out!

Hi all! My awesome co-teacher Stacey Fong is getting ready for the new season of her Bachata teams (partnered or solo femme), so if you'd like to become a top-notch Bachata dancer, here's your opportunity!

Bay Area EMENVI World Teams by Magda&Valeria, Season 2, is having tryouts soon! Now in our second season, after performing all over the Bay Area, Calif Bay Area’s EMENVI team members will train and have the opportunity to perform with the Team Trainer, Stacey, who is connected directly with world-renowned Bachata dancers Magda & Valeria. There may even be opportunities to perform together with Magda & Valeria themselves! 💥

In a little over an hour our first group class of the year begins (at 7pm, and Level 2 to follow at 7:45pm). We're teaching an easy, fun dance to get things started: Rumba!

We hope all you vaccinated, masked folks will join us (please bring proof the first week you attend)! We also run high volume HEPA air purifiers for your safety.

My name is David Canavese and I teach Salsa, Swing, Ballroom, & Latin dances in San Jose, CA (or anywhere via Zoom).

It's been a hard road being a social dance teacher during a pandemic, but I know that our need for connection is greater than ever before, and when this is all over, we're all going to want to PARTY! Why not build some dance skills now?

ADDITIONAL:
Firstly: for online lessons there's always a free test session to work out your setup, and for me to learn your goals and dance interests.
Secondly: Lessons are same price whether online/in person, HOWEVER in person = 45 min or online = 1 hr.
Thirdly: For context: normally a single full price lesson is $93 (discounts for packages).

BACKGROUND:
Dancing & competing since 1997, teaching full time since 2008. I've taught everything from kids and couples to huge group classes of 100+ brand new dancers.

The start of a New Year reminds us to reexamine if we're getting what we want out of life. Do you feel like things are a little gray or dull for you recently?

is a real thing, and you might be surprised to realize the thing that's missing is 💃🕺! I'm realizing I identify so strongly with my hashtag because I'm so passionate about the benefits of learning to become a .

Competition and performance dance are extremely valuable for certain personality types, but for a lot of us, we just see people twirling their partner at a wedding or concert and just really envy THAT experience!

That's why I feel so strongly about getting more than one style under your belt as a casual learner. You don't need to learn five dances right away, but if you can and , those two dances cover a wide range of music, so you can spend less time sitting on the sidelines and more ON THE FLOOR.

As for me, the fun and quotients were so high that once I got a few dances down, I just had to learn more styles! My are to get some new growth by refining the dances above (the ones I know the least about)! Let's slay stagnation and bring some color into your New Year!

Queen Bee's Arts & Cultural Center has a pretty awesome space (though I wonder if washing their floors would make them a bit less sticky...too much honey maybe?) Here was the scene after the drop-in class; up next was Salsa, but too beginner for us, so we investigated the aforementioned Zouk class (previous post)!
