Persephone Dance Company

Persephone Dance Company Persephone Dance Company is an Improvisational Tribal Style Belly Dance troupe based in the South Bay Area, California. PDC was officially formed in 2009.

Members Casey, Shawn Ryan, Stefanie Kelly (also of Fat Chance Belly Dance) and Natalia Ronstadt Chang originally met while dancing with Kathy Stahlman in Tribal Moon. in 2012, Stephanie Kelly left PDC and in 2014, PDC welcomed Inna Dagman to their sisterhood, followed by Robin Ryan in 2016. Persephone is happy to announce San Jose’s Sub Zero Festival is back on again this year after a two year pandemic shutdown!

Shawn will be dancing along with guest stars Kae Montgomery, Marsha Poulin, and Leigh Anne of Al-hambra DanceCompany, and featuring live drumming by David TwoHawk Glazier and Mike Fair next Saturday only 6/4 from 5-11pm.

Better late than never! Here’s the collabo Shawn and Robin did with Tessera Dance at Coastal Belly Fest Gala back in late 2019. Sadly, we haven’t performed together since, as pandemic life has been in full force since shortly after. We are looking forward to performing again when we are all able! Enjoy!
