CPAA Learning Center — Our K–8 education and arts enrichment program for ages 5–12 kicks off August 24th (enrollment closes August 20th), offering small-group instruction in Dance, Robotics, Arts, Math, and Languages designed to build confidence both in and out of the classroom. 🍎 🍏

🏡 Chapter 4: Home & Hearts | 第四篇章：家园

Where the heart belongs is where we find home.

The final chapter of *Our Hearts, Our Home* explored the deeper meaning of homeland—not as a place on a map, but as a place within us. Through dance and music, audiences reflected on love, belonging, heritage, and the journeys that shape who we are.

From the flowing movements of *Tides of the Heart*to the timeless cultural legacy of UNESCO-recognized *Xi'an Drum Music*to the quiet strength embodied in *Spirit of the Orchid*, each performance revealed a different expression of home.

Our ancestral homeland gives us roots. Silicon Valley expands our horizons. Together, they form the unique tapestry of our lives.

When both homes live in our hearts, we become true citizens of the world—grounded in heritage, open to possibility, and connected through our shared humanity.

🌊 Chapter 3: Tide & Surge | 第三篇章：潮涌

Under one moon across the seas, cultures meet, memories flow, and communities rise together.

Chapter 3 of *Our Hearts, Our Home* celebrated the powerful currents that shape Silicon Valley’s multicultural identity—where Eastern wisdom and Western innovation intertwine, creating new possibilities and deeper connections.

✨ Los Lupeños de San José brought the vibrant spirit of Mexico to the stage with *El Son Jalisciense*, a joyful celebration of heritage, community, and living tradition through energetic footwork and colorful movement.

🎤 Ting Yan touched hearts with two beautiful vocal performances: the beloved Cantonese classic *A Thousand Songs of Farewell (千千阙歌)* and *Our Hearts, Our Home (美丽家园)*. Together, the songs carried audiences through memories of home, belonging, and the passage of time.

⚔️ CPAA dancers captivated the audience with *Light and Shadow of the Swords (箫风剑影)*, blending strength and elegance in a breathtaking display of traditional Chinese dance. Accompanied by the ethereal sound of the xiao flute, the performance painted a timeless portrait of Eastern artistry.

💫 The chapter concluded with the moving duet *Forever Young (无问)*, performed by Wenlong Sun and Leah Liang. Through grace, trust, and emotional depth, they portrayed a journey of dreams, courage, and unwavering support.

As cultures converge and stories intertwine, we become bridges, connecting past and present, East and West, tradition and innovation. Together, these tides form the vibrant and ever-evolving spirit of our community.

Happy Father's Day! 🌹 This Father's Day, we're thinking back to a beautiful moment from our Spring Festival gala — a soprano solo, piano, and dance performance of "O Mio Babbino Caro" (Oh, My Dear Daddy) from Puccini's Gianni Schicchi, paired with the Chinese-inspired "Rolling Up the Pearl Curtain."

It's a piece that, fittingly, carries "dad" right in its title — but more than that, it captures something universal: across Eastern and Western traditions, the love between a parent and child speaks the same language, no matter the melody it's set to.
As voice, piano, and movement intertwined that evening, East and West met in a dialogue of pure emotion — much like the bond we celebrate today.

To all the fathers, father figures, and dads-to-be in our CPAA community: thank you for the love you give. 💛

Cultivation & Toil🌱 A home built with our own hands is both a reflection of who we are and an act of creation.

We did not arrive at a home that was ready for us. We built it, late night by late night, dream by dream, effort by effort.

Silicon Valley knows this story well. Every street, every café, every corner carries the traces of our hard work, our friendships, our love. We came to new land and shaped belonging from the ground up, through adaptation, growth, and renewal.
This is cultivation. This is toil. This is home. 💛

耕耘之处，即是家园。Where we labor, we belong. 🌾

CPAA was at Santa Clara County Office of Education's Rhythm & Roots: Celebrating AAPI Heritage Through Culture & Community to celebrate AAPI Heritage Month! 🌸
Two beautiful pieces were presented, beginning with "Dance of the Yi Ethnic Group" performed by featured p**a virtuoso Shenshen Zhang. 🎶

The p**a is one of China's most iconic traditional instruments, often described as a Chinese lute, with over 2,000 years of history. Held upright and plucked with the fingernails, it is celebrated for its extraordinary expressive range, capable of thundering battle scenes, delicate lyrical poems, and everything in between. In Shenshen's hands, the piece came alive with vivid, powerful rhythm and a passionate, exuberant melody, capturing the joyful spirit of the Yi people's folk dance traditions and their deep love for life. ✨

The second piece, "Blessing", a Chinese classical dance choreographed by CPAA Artistic Director Feng Han, expressed heartfelt wishes for peace, harmony, and well-being through graceful, restrained movement. 🩰 🎶

🌿 Where do you come from? Where do you belong?

This past February, our 17th Spring Festival Silicon Valley — "Our Hearts, Our Home" opened with a question that lives in all of us.

Chapter One: 根脉 | Roots & Origin set the soul of the evening. Through the grace of our opening dance The Sound of Spring — choreographed by Feng Han and performed by artists from Han Performing Arts of America — and the soaring voices of USA Angel Choir & Harmonia Women's Choir singing ancient poems, we were carried back to the landscapes that first shaped us.
The mountains. The rivers. The smell of a meal a mother once cooked. The sound of a familiar alley.

Chapter One: 根脉 | Roots & Origin set the soul of the evening. Through the grace of our opening dance, The Sound of Spring — choreographed by Feng Han and performed by artists from Han Performing Arts of America — and the soaring voices of USA Angel Choir & Harmonia Women's Choir singing ancient poems, we were carried back to the landscapes that first shaped us.
Here in Silicon Valley, amid the fast pace and the noise, CPAA exists to tend that spring, to keep our roots alive, our stories warm, and our community rooted in who we are and where we come from.

Belonging doesn't begin where you land. It begins where you're from. 🌸

This Mother's Day, we reflect on the power of Tide and Surge, Chapter 3 of our 17th Spring Festival Silicon Valley, "Our Hearts, Our Home." Like the tide that moves with quiet, relentless strength, mothers shape the currents of our lives, carrying culture, love, and resilience across generations.

Home is not just a place — it's the warmth in a mother's hands, the stories passed down in song and dance, the community she builds around her. That is the heart of everything we do at CPAA.
