To all my dad’s followers, thank you for your support and for validating his talent as an artist 🎨 Ernest Kirk Jr., aka. The Black Folk Artist passed away peacefully on Friday, February 13. He had heart failure but managed to keep enjoying himself these last 5 years since diagnosis. Ernest move to hospice at the VA in Palo Alto two months ago. They treated him like a king and were planning a Meet the Artist event for Black History Month. He created two new pieces during his time in hospice. He was a creative and resourceful man who enjoyed family, fishing, and bingo nights. He’ll be missed.
