We received the sad news that Mr. Gary L. Coffman, who taught English at TOHS for many years, passed away on March 12 in Visalia, where he lived for many years. He spent his last decades in the home where he grew up, taking care of his beloved dogs, and tending his garden. A very kind, gentle person of depth and integrity, he was a wonderful, patient teacher who brought much love and dedication to his job, and remembered many a student for years afterward.

I know this is a longshot, but I have a question: In 2002 or 2003, TOHS had live "knights" at the homecoming football game where two large draft horses were on the field putting on a jousting show. At the end of it, fireworks were set off and the horses went crazy. My dad and I were on the field, and I was the girl that got dragged by the black horse. I was wondering if, by any crazy chance, someone somewhere has a video of that homecoming show. I'd love to see that footage and compare it to my memory of that day!

"Jerry loved TOHS and his students. He was a passionate teacher who made history come alive, and his students loved him for it. Whenever former students met Sean or other family members and learned of their connection to Jerry, the reaction was universal: Mr. Morris is the best! And, Jerry delighted in following the successes of his former students, proudly tracking their subsequent educational achievements, new jobs, and growing families. Often, keeping track of former students was easy, because he taught several generations of the same family."

The 50th Anniversary reunion of TOHS's 1972 Marmonte League Football Championship team is now only EIGHT weeks away!

On Friday, August 19, 2022 we will:
1. Meet at the Sunset Terrace Restaurant & Lounge, located in the Janss Marketplace at 235 N. Moorpark Rd., Unit G in Thousand Oaks from 3:30 pm - 6:00 pm.
This will be a NO HOST get-together to renew old friendships and, I'm sure, to embellish a few stories from days long gone.

2. Be introduced as a group before the crowd gathered at TOHS at about 6:45 pm, just before the 2022 season opening kickoff as the Lancers take on the Segerstrom Jaguars at 7:00 pm.

Please let me know if you are planning to attend and how many people will be with you to allow the Sunset Terrace manager to properly staff our pre-game warm-up.
