Just hours after announcing it online, Charli XCX turned a quiet Friday night in London into one of the most talked-about fan events of the week. The pop innovator and her husband, George Daniel of The 1975, hosted a surprise “In Conversation” event in Exmouth Market before following it up with an intimate DJ set packed with deep cuts, fan favorites and teasers of unreleased music.

The gathering was announced only hours beforehand through Charli’s b.sides Instagram account, where she described the evening as a discussion about creativity, artistic process and making things.

Fans immediately took notice. The event followed a similar “In Conversation” session held in New York earlier this month, where Charli spoke candidly about songwriting, creative risks and the realities of building a career in pop music. But the London edition felt even more spontaneous — and considerably more chaotic.

Mick Jagger has sent a clear message to Rolling Stones fans: the band is itching to get back on the road.

In a new interview on BBC Radio 2’s Tracks of My Years, the frontman expressed strong enthusiasm about future touring while promoting the band’s upcoming 25th studio album Foreign Tongues, due for release on July 10 via Polydor/Universal Music. “I’d love to go on tour, I can’t wait,” Jagger said, though he tempered expectations by adding, “I don’t think it’s going to be this year… But hopefully it’s going to be as soon as possible.”

The comments come after the band scrapped plans for a 2026 UK and European stadium tour due to Keith Richards’ scheduling commitments. Richards recently hinted at possible activity in 2027, and Jagger’s latest remarks have only increased anticipation for a return to the stage.

After years of modest deflection, Paul McCartney has openly declared that The Beatles were likely the greatest band of all time.

In a TikTok livestream Q&A promoting his new album, the 83-year-old icon embraced the monumental legacy he once downplayed. “I think The Beatles were the greatest band ever… I’m a fan,” he said plainly. The admission marks a shift from previous comments where he regularly championed The Everly Brothers as his biggest influence and the rightful holders of the title.

McCartney also reflected on how unexpectedly long the band’s impact has lasted. When they started, he and his bandmates believed they might only have a couple of years before fading away. “We thought, ‘If we’re lucky, we’ve got a couple of years,’” he recalled. Instead, their influence has stretched across decades, with new generations discovering the music organically. “People will come to me and say, ‘My kids love your music’ and that’s something, because you can’t indoctrinate kids.”

More than half a century after changing the course of rock music, Roger Daltrey is making a bold claim about his band's legacy: according to the legendary frontman, The Who were the original heavy metal band.

Speaking in a new interview with Rolling Stone, Daltrey argued that many of the elements later associated with heavy metal — towering amplification, aggressive stage performances, instrument destruction and sheer sonic power — were already part of The Who’s DNA years before the genre officially existed.

“We were just different than everybody else,” Daltrey said, suggesting that modern audiences often overlook how radical The Who sounded during the mid-1960s.

The singer pointed to the band's volume, attitude and stage presentation as evidence that they helped establish the blueprint later adopted by hard rock and metal acts throughout the 1970s and beyond. To support his argument, Daltrey referenced Ian Paice of Deep Purple, claiming the drummer recently told him that “The Who started it all.”

Barry Gibb has become the latest music icon forced to survive the internet’s endless death-hoax machine. Over the weekend, false claims that the Bee Gees legend had died spread rapidly across social media, triggering confusion among fans and generating millions of views through reposts, fake tribute pages and AI-generated imagery.

The rumors became so widespread that family sources stepped in directly to shut them down. According to TMZ, people close to Gibb confirmed the 79-year-old singer is “healthy, happy, and living life” at his home near Miami, dismissing the viral posts as completely fabricated.

The fake reports appear to have exploded Sunday (May 24), when a page titled “R.I.P Barry Gibb” suddenly gained traction online and reportedly collected close to one million likes before eventually being removed.

But by that point, the misinformation had already escaped containment. Across X, Facebook and TikTok, users continued reposting claims that Gibb had died, while AI-generated tribute images and fake memorial graphics flooded timelines — another example of how generative AI is accelerating celebrity misinformation online.

Zayn Malik has pushed back against viral accusations that he aggressively swore at fans after his Manchester show, clarifying that the confrontation involved persistent stalkers rather than genuine supporters.

The incident occurred on May 24 outside a Manchester hotel following Zayn’s headline performance at the AO Arena as part of his 2026 Konnakol world tour. TMZ released footage showing the singer struggling to enter a private car as a crowd pressed in. In the clip, Zayn is heard saying, “Get the f**k out of my way,” while a member of his team pleaded with people to clear space.

In a direct response posted in the comments section of TMZ’s Instagram video, Zayn set the record straight: “Let’s get the facts straight – the fans were and always are respectful and amazing. The problem was the various adult men who stood blocking the hotel doors and the car for 10 minutes, not letting us or the security guards leave.”

More than three decades after helping create one of the defining house anthems of the ’90s, Janice Robinson is finally reclaiming Dreamer on her own terms.

The original voice behind the iconic Livin' Joy hit has announced a newly reimagined version of the track, arriving May 29 through Armada Music. But this isn’t being framed as a simple nostalgia reboot or anniversary remix. For Robinson, the release represents something much more personal: ownership, identity and legacy.

In a statement accompanying the announcement, Robinson described the project as a “full-circle reclaiming” of her truth — a direct acknowledgment of the complicated history surrounding the song and her departure from Livin’ Joy shortly after the original release.

After years of teasing IDs, testing unreleased tracks live and driving fans insane with vault rumors, Eric Prydz has officially confirmed a major new wave of Pryda music is finally on the way. The progressive house icon revealed this week that he currently has six brand-new Pryda EPs completed and ready for release — marking one of the biggest release plans under the Pryda alias in years.

The announcement arrived via X, where Prydz asked fans whether they wanted the material delivered as traditional two-track Pryda EPs or grouped together into larger four-track packages. For longtime followers of the project, the question immediately tapped into nostalgia surrounding the golden era of Pryda vinyl releases, which helped define progressive house culture in the late 2000s and early 2010s.

Prydz himself appeared to already know the answer.

Bad Bunny is officially joining the world of Toy Story 5 — and yes, his character is exactly as bizarre as fans hoped.

Disney confirmed on May 26 that the Puerto Rican superstar will appear in the upcoming Pixar sequel as “Pizza with Sunglasses,” a mysterious toy described as both effortlessly cool and strangely elusive. According to early details, the character belongs to a hidden community of forgotten toys living inside an abandoned shed — suggesting the next Toy Story film may lean into darker and more emotional territory than previous entries.

The announcement instantly became one of the internet’s favorite pieces of casting news this week, largely because “Pizza with Sunglasses” sounds less like a Pixar character and more like a surreal Bad Bunny lyric brought to life.
