ZADO perform folk songs of life and love on June 23 at Performers’ Circle
Inspired by traditional Balkan singing, music, and dance, ZADO are a Sacramento-based vocal ensemble performing international folk songs, particularly those from Eastern Europe. They share these beautiful and unique songs and dances; and they hope to inspire listeners to treasure their own heritage, cultures and traditions as well as those of others. ZADO will be accompanied by Jim Shoemaker on accordion.
ZADO have been performing in the greater Sacramento area since 1980. They have sung at local schools, churches, retirement homes, non-profit organizations, art galleries, dance and world music events. They collaborate with master vocalists, teachers, singing groups, and musicians. Jim Shoemaker’s Balkan band, “Daj Go Živo” has collaborated with them on programs. ZADO have produced three CDs.
