Happy first Mother's Day to my amazing wife Erika! ❤️

Our son Calvin turned one month old today and I can say for sure it's been the best month of my life, sleep is overrated!

There is no one else in the world I would rather be on this journey with, and Cal is so fortunate to have such a loving and thoughtful mother in his life!

We had a great time working with burnerphone this weekend at the studio, their new full length album is more than halfway recorded and is sounding great!

We've been using our V44s Stereo FET mic on the overheads, V13 tube mic on vocals and more recently our V1 SDC on snare!🌵

Yesterday was the final recording day for CuVa Bimö's new full length album! Working with these guys has been a blast and they have some exciting things coming up this year!

Their new single "Malagradecido" is already streaming and available on Bandcamp, give it a listen!🌵

We had a great time working with Kruel Summer and Ryan Palma in the studio last week! Fresh heads on the drums and fresh vibes from the band, sessions like these are why I fell in love with recording in the first place!🌵

For overheads, we used our trusty Vanguard Audio Labs V44s Stereo FET mic!🎙️

The New Acoustic Collective is proud to announce we will be releasing our 5th album and new studio record “Double Course” with Adhyâropa Records on July 24th!

“Double Course” is the first album that features all original music penned by Jason Keiser, and featured guitarists; Gal Klein and Elijah Chen. It explores themes of duets between musicians as The NAC plays modal jazz, SpaceGrass, tango, flamenco, klezmer, bluegrass, and more.

It's been an exciting couple of months here at the studio working with so many different bands, so I wanted to start highlighting some of the gear backline that often goes unmentioned!

Even though amp sim plugins have come a long way I still prefer the sound of an actual amp and cab. These early 70s heads have become my main bass amps for recording and live shows, bringing the right balance of punchy headroom and grit to compliment any track.

I got these heads from working part time at Amp Lab in Campbell. The owner Keith was one of the first employees at GK and had a derelict 600B head in storage that we repaired back in 2024. The one labeled 300G is really unique since it is actually the preamp and front panel from a 300G but the power amp and chassis from a 600B. The power section in this head is actually hand wired on terminal strips and is such a low serial number that it may be from GK's first facility - Bob Gallien's garage!

We have so much to be thankful for this year as we prepare to bring our first child into the world!
