Europa Park was built by the Mack family, which for generations has been in the business of entertainment and amusement manufacturing. The family company, Mack Rides, dates back to the 1780s, when Paul Mack began building carriages and stage coaches.
The family opened Europe Park in 1975, and today, the park is the second-most popular amusement park in Europe, behind only Disneyland Park at Disneyland Paris in France.
Located in Rust, Germany, the park is divided into 16 themed areas representing 13 European countries. It drew 5 million visitors in 2014, and was given the Thea Classic Award in 2013 as a park that has stood the test of time.
